B Pharma: Why Study?

Listed below are some of the reasons that will help you understand why this might be the right course for you.

  • B Pharma is a job-oriented course, which means after its completion finding a job could be an easy task. As the demand for pharmacists has increased ever since the pandemic began, not only now but even before pharmacists has been a profession that witnesses ever increasing growth.
  •  But without a doubt the drug industry boomed with the onset of COVID-19. Drug or pharmaceutical industry from the past twenty years has seen remarkable growth.
  •  India's market alone witnessed a growth of 17.7% in 2021 from 13.7% in 2020. Growth of any market implies the fact that it generates more revenue and even in future the trend will keep increasing.
  •  Hence, a profession like pharmacist or any other profile related to pharmaceuticals such as drug inspector, quality control associate, medical writer, or clinical research associate will see growth and demand. So, choosing B Pharmacy guarantees a lucrative career.
  • Pharmacists have a major role in the healthcare industry as they are the one who guides patients about how to take medicine and what results they can expect from a particular medication. It means a large section of the society depends upon their knowledge, making them an intricate part of the healthcare system.
  •  The Government too has taken some initiatives to promote the pharmaceutical industry such as a First “Global Innovation Summit” took place in November 2021 to discuss various topics related to pharma industries and a host speaker talked about regulatory environment, funding for innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and innovative infrastructure.
  • Initiative like this prepares the road ahead for the drug industry and it has also been projected that in the next five year, India will be in the top 10 countries that will be spending more on medicines.
  • Such data gives a clear picture of how the industry will keep making money and will not witness loss in near future.

B.Pharma: Exam Preparation Tips

Pharmacy is one of the most common career paths for science majors. Many government and polytechnic institutions, as well as private institutes, provide a two-year diploma in pharmacy (D. Pharm). Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) is a four-year degree programme provided by a number of public and private colleges and institutes. Before enrolling, the candidate should ensure that the college is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), both of which are based in New Delhi. NBA-accredited institutes are unquestionably superior in terms of education.

1) Know the Syllabus

The content of the syllabus changes  marginally from state to state or institute to institute. The candidate must be aware of the topics that will be covered in the specific entrance exam.

The syllabus focuses mostly on conceptual problems.

The curriculum does not provide equal weight to all of the sections. As a result, the candidate must establish their priorities.

2) Prepare in accordance with the marking scheme.

Begin by identifying and realising the best area that can be prepared.

Do not advance on the weakest section, as this may lower your score.

Try to enhance the skills of the sections that are relatively weaker.

3) Revision

All preparation may be for nothing if the syllabus is not revised.

Set a goal of completing all subjects and allowing at least one or two months for revision.

4) Textbook and reference book selection

NCERT textbooks must be properly prepared and revised.

The reference book should be simple to read and cover practically all of the concepts and questions from prior years' tests.

5) Time management

Even while studying for the exam, all subjects should be given equal attention.

The conceptual issues must be resolved swiftly and precisely.

Understanding the concept is the key .
