Application of Stream

B.tech and B.E both degrees offer courses in IT sector. This stream focuses on the communication and business areas of computing, the computer science course may involve more of the scientific aspects of computing.

 

Other than B.tech/B.E other degrees offering education in information technology are Bachelor in Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc).

 

Apart from that for post-graduate education, one can pursue Master’s degrees, such as M.Tech., MCA, and M.Sc. in Computers, and Master’s in Systems Management. Certification, diploma and PG diploma programs from reputed institutions are also available.

Specialization

Candidates who are interested in IT need to focus on mathematics, physics, and chemistry after their class 10.

 

Candidates need to take the national level entrance exam for admission to IT courses in colleges or universities. Some colleges admit students based on various entrance exams, other take admission based on class 12th results.

Eligibility

For admission in B.tech IT:

10+2 Science stream students with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects, who have passed 12th board examinations from a recognized board are eligible to pursue B.E./B.Tech. Information Technology course.

 

Students must also have appeared for the state level entrance examination to be considered eligible to take part in the admission process. 

 

Both the central universities and state level universities including the private ones their own admission procedure.
