What is IBSAT ?

IBSAT 2020 Exam Dates have been announced by the authorities and the exams are scheduled to be conducted on 26th December 2020 and 27th December 2020. The online registration procedure IBSAT 2020 Exam started from 1st July 2020 and the application window will continue to remain open until 16th December 2020. Students interested in taking the exam can register themselves by filling online application form available on the official website of the institute. IBSAT stands for ICFAI Business School Aptitude Test which is an entrance examination conducted annually at the national level by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education.

ICFAI Business School has recently announced ‘'National Mock Test” for students preparing for the exam. Candidates are given this opportunity to prepare for the exam in the most efficient manner. This also gives them a brief idea of examination pattern and the type of questions asked in the exam. Candidates willing to appear in National IBSAT 2020 Mock Test would not be required to process any payment in order to apply for IBSAT 2020 Exam.

Candidates willing to appear in the exam must note that the mock test should be taken between 10th August 2020 and 30th September 2020.

Candidates willing to take IBSAT 2020 must ensure that they stand eligible as per the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institutes. Possessing a bachelor's degree in any discipline securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized university is the minimum qualification that students must possess while applying for the exam. The duration of the computer-based test is 2 hours and the questions asked in the exam would be of Multiple-Choice type questions. These questions are purely based on areas such as Verbal Ability, Quantitative Techniques, and Reasoning Ability.

IBSAT 2020 Registration

The application procedure of IBSAT 2020 began on 1st July 2020 and is still in progress. Students willing to apply for the exam and appear in it can visit the official website of IBS i.e. www.ibsindia.org and register themselves for the examination. The online application window for the exam would remain open until 16th December 2020 and interested students must register before it closes. Students can register themselves through both online and offline modes.

Things you must know before applying for the exam:

  • Interested candidates must ensure that they possess all the prerequisites in order to apply for IBSAT 2020. These would include a valid email address, telephone number, and a valid and permanent address. They must also keep with them marksheets of class 10th and 12th as to calculate the percentage and fill the form correctly.
  • Candidates must ensure that they process the payment of INR 1800 as application fee while filling the application form. Candidates willing to fill the form through offline mode of application must visit any IBS Campus and purchase IBSAT Application Form from there.
  • Candidates must ensure that they enter correct details while filling the application form as any incorrect detail will lead to cancelation of their candidature and would even refrain them from entering the examination hall.

Guidelines to Fill IBSAT 2020 Application Form

IBSAT 2020 Application procedure started from 1st July 2020 and is in progress. The last date to fill the application form of IBSAT 2020 is 16th December 2020. Interested candidates can register themselves on the official website of IBS by filling the application form available there. They must also process the payment of application fee of INR 1800 while filling IBSAT Application Form. The payment must be made through any online payment mode such as net banking, credit card, or debit card. Besides, the form can also be filled through offline mode and students opting for offline mode can purchase IBSAT application form from IBS centers.

  • Candidates must ensure that they fill the application form by providing their correct details as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of their candidature.
  • They must upload their recent and colored passport sized photograph in the specified format.
  • They must also mention the exam they will be applying based on. Exams such as IBSAT or GMAT, CAT or NMAT by GMAC.
  • Before submitting the application, candidates must read the information entered by them correctly and then navigate to and click on ‘I Agree'.

IBSAT 2020 Eligibility

Candidates willing to apply for IBSAT 2020 must ensure that they fulfil the minimum eligibility required defined by IBS. They would not be granted admission if they do not stand eligible for the particular they are willing to apply for. The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education has defined a set of IBSAT Eligibility Criteria for students willing to take IBSAT 2020.

  • Candidates seeking admission must possess a bachelor's degree in any field from a recognized university.
  • The medium of instructions in their respective college must be English. In case the medium of instructions is any other language than English, candidates would be required to submit their score of any of the entrance examination such as TOEFL, NELT, or IELTS by 31st May 2021.
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks in graduation.
  • Candidates must have completed their graduation before 31st May 2021, and they would also be required to submit their proof of graduation by 1st November 2021.
  • There is no age restriction for students applying for the exam.

IBSAT 2020 Eligibility

Details of IBSAT Eligibility Criteria 2020:

The Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks from a recognized College or University.
A minimum of 15 years of regular education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis) is mandatory for all the applicants. The students who have completed their graduation on part time, online mode or distance mode are not eligible to sit in the exam.
Candidates that do not meet the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation have to appear in TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS exam and must submit the score by May 31, 2018.
Scores of GMAT/CAT/NMAT are acceptable in place of IBSAT 2017.
Ph.D.: IBS Alumni, M.Phil Degree holders, and UGC NET candidates stand exempted from IBSAT 201

Eligibility for 2 years Management Programme

  1. Graduate with 50% and above with English medium
  2. Should have completed a minimum of 15 years of education (10+2+3 10+2+4)
  3. Candidates who have not met eligibility criteria in English medium should submit TOEFL/NELT/IELTS score by 31 May 2021.
  4. Applicants in their final year of Bachelor degree are eligible to apply if they complete their graduation requirements by 31 May 2021. The last date for submission of proof of graduation would be November 1, 2019.

PhD Programme in Management

  1. Graduation (any discipline) with 50% marks and above with English medium and;
  2. PG in Management (Full time specializing in Marketing/Finance/Human Resource Management and Operations from UGC Approved University with 55% and above) 

           OR

          A professional qualification like CA/CFA/CWA/CS with 55% and above marks.

Ph.D. Programme in Economics

  1. Graduation with 50% and above marks and post-graduation in economics or allied discipline with 55% and above marks
  2. All the applicants should have completed a minimum of 17 years of education. (10+2+3+2 or 10+2+4+2)
  3. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria of English medium in Graduation/Post graduation on part-time, distance or online are not eligible for a Ph.D. program of IBS Hyderabad.

Candidates who qualify on the basis of IBSAT/GMAT/CAT/NMAT by GMAC would be called for a selection procedure at IBS Hyderabad in February. The final selection would be based on the Group Discussion, Personal Interview, and Past academic records

IBSAT 2020 Application Procedure

Steps for IBSAT 2020 Registration:

  • The IBSAT 2020 Application form will be available through Online and Offline mode
  • The Online Application Form will be available on the official website
  • The Offline Application Form is expected to be issued from the Marketing Offices of the IBS
  • The application forms will be available from the first week of July 2020 till the third week of December 2020
  • The candidates appearing for IBSAT 2020 examination must read the application form carefully. The facility of correction window is not provided by the examination conducting authority
  • The candidate must take a print out of the downloaded application form for further reference

Guidelines for IBSAT 2020: 

  • On completion of online registration and payment, an email and SMS with application number and password would be sent. The student would have to log in with those details.
  • On successful submission of an application, e-mail confirmation would be sent to the student.
  • The IBSAT Bulletin would be couriered within 7 days from the date of submission of online application form.

  • ICFAI Business School usually uploads IBSAT admit card on its official website. 
  • ICFAI Business School does not send admit cards by post or courier.
  • IBS releases the IBSAT Admit Card 2018 well in advance from the date of exam.
  • The IBSAT Admit Card contains the personal details as well as the date, venue and time of the IBSAT exam.
  • It is mandatory to bring the IBSAT Admit Card at the center of the exam on the exam date along with a valid ID proof.

IBSAT 2020 Preparation Tips

Since the format and the kind of questions asked in IBSAT is more or less similar to other management entrance examinations, your preparation strategy should remain the same. What you can additionally do is the practice as many sample tests as possible. This helps you to get familiar with the pattern of the paper and also increases your level of confidence when you are facing the actual test.

IBSAT 2020 Exam Pattern

IBSAT Exam Pattern 2018:

  • IBSAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and comprising of multiple choice questions. The total time duration of the test is 2 hours. There are four sections in the test namely the Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation and Data Adequacy, Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability.
  • There are a total number of 140 questions that are distributed across 4 sections. The four sections are Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Adequacy & Interpretation.
  • IBSAT is highly balanced in terms of its difficulty level. About 50% is assigned for difficulty, while the rest is divided among difficult and moderately difficult.
  • There are 5 choices for every question with 1 mark is awarded for a right answer and nil negative marking. There is no sectional cutoff and no sectional time limits

IBSAT 2020 Syllabus

The candidates need to be aware of the syllabus of the examination to ensure a good amount of preparation.

The syllabus for IBSAT remains the same across the following portions:

IBSAT 2020 Result

The IBSAT Result will be announced by IBS Hyderabad. The examinees who attempt IBSAT 2018 would be shortlisted on the basis of scores achieved by them. The IBSAT Examinees will also be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in NMAT, GMAT and CAT

The IBSAT Examination is held annually held to offer admissions to aspirants belonging to MBA and PGDM Courses

IBSAT 2020 Selection Procedure

IBSAT Selection Procedure 2020 is mentioned below

  • Once the written exam is conducted, candidates who clear usually go through the selection briefing procedure. For final selection or admission to be determined for admission into IBS School, candidates have to clear the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The selection process for IBSAT exam would be done in Hyderabad.
  • The IBSAT Selection Procedure, in brief, is conducted at 48 locations. The purpose of conducting the same is to keep all the shortlisted candidates informed about the various programs offered at IBS Business School. Selected candidates would be invited for the GD round in the Hyderabad Campus. Group Discussion Round entitles a discussion about a specific topic for a time of about 15-20 minutes among about 8-10 participants. Candidates should read a lot of topics on general awareness in magazines and periodicals to gain knowledge on the same. 
  • Candidates who crack Group Discussion would be called for a Personal Interview. The communication skills, confidence, and aptitude of a candidate are tested.
  • Personal Interview Round: Candidates who have cracked the Group Discussion Round are called for a Personal Interview Round. A candidate's communication skills, confidence, attitude, and aptitude is tested to help the candidate clear the round.

Documents to be Carried

Candidate needs to carry the following items along with to the test center:

Admit card – The mandatory document that needs to be carried to the test center, in absence of which the candidate will not be allowed for the test.

  • Photo Identification proof – Acceptable Identification documents are Driving license, passport, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID (Supported with a valid ATM / Debit / Credit Card with candidate's name), Employee Identification Card, or a notarized Affidavit with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address.
  • Photo identification proof should be original and valid i.e. should not be expired. The name and details in the Photo Identification proof should match with the details filled in the IBSAT application form. Photocopies of original documents will not be acceptable.
