What is IBSAT ?

It is an aptitude test conducted by the ICFAI University Group, for students seeking admission into its management programs. It is a two hour Computer-based Test (CBT) conducted across 95 test centers all over India.

IBSAT 2017 Exam Pattern

IBSAT Exam Pattern 2017:

  • IBSAT is a Computer Based Test (CBT) and consists of multiple choice questions. The total time duration of the test is 2 hours. There are four sections in the test namely the Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation and Data Adequacy, Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability.
  • There are about 140 questions that are distributed across 4 sections. The four sections are Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Adequacy & Interpretation.
  • IBSAT is highly balanced in terms of its difficulty level. About 50% is assigned for difficulty, while the rest is divided among difficult and moderately difficult.
  • There are 5 choices for every question with about 1 mark awarded for a right answer and nil negative marking. There is no sectional cutoff and no sectional time limits. For more details, refer to IBSAT exam pattern.


IBSAT 2017 Eligibility

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria 2017:
  • The Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks from a recognized College or University.
  • A minimum of 15 years of regular education (10+2+3 or 10+2+4 basis) is mandatory for all the applicants. The students who have completed their graduation on part time, online mode or distance mode are not eligible to sit in the exam.
  • Candidates that do not meet the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation have to appear in TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS exam and must submit the score by May 31, 2018.
  • Scores of GMAT/CAT/NMAT are acceptable in place of IBSAT 2017.
  • Ph.D.: IBS Alumni, M.Phil Degree holders, and UGC NET candidates stand exempted from IBSAT 2017.

IBSAT 2017 Application Procedure

Guidelines for IBSAT 2017: 

  • On completion of online registration and payment, an email and SMS with application number and password would be sent. The student would have to login with those details.
  • On successful submission of an application, e-mail confirmation would be sent to the student.
  • The IBSAT Bulletin would be couriered within 7 days from the date of submission of online application form.

IBSAT 2017 Selection Procedure

IBSAT Selection Procedure 2017 is mentioned below:

  • Once the written exam is conducted, candidates who clear usually go through the selection briefing procedure. For final selection or admission to be determined for admission into IBS School, candidates have to clear the Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The selection process for IBSAT exam would be done in Hyderabad.
  • The IBSAT Selection Procedure, in brief, is conducted at 48 locations. The purpose of conducting the same is to keep all the shortlisted candidates informed about the various programs offered at IBS Business School. Selected candidates would be invited for the GD round in the Hyderabad Campus. Group Discussion Round entitles a discussion about a specific topic for a time of about 15-20 minutes among about 8-10 participants. Candidates should read a lot of topics on general awareness in magazines and periodicals to gain knowledge on the same. 
  • Candidates who crack Group Discussion would be called for a Personal Interview. The communication skills.confidence and aptitude of a candidate is tested.
  • Personal Interview Round: Candidates who have cracked the Group Discussion Round are called for a Personal Interview Round. A candidate's communication skills, confidence, attitude, and aptitude is tested to help the candidate clear the round.


IBSAT 2017 Admit Card

IBSAT Admit Card 2017:

  • ICFAI Business School usually uploads IBSAT admit card on its official website. 
  • ICFAI Business School does not send admit cards by post or courier.
  • IBS releases the IBSAT Admit Card 2017 well in advance from the date of exam.
  • The IBSAT Admit Card contains the personal details as well as the date, venue and time of the IBSAT exam.
  • It is mandatory to bring the IBSAT Admit Card at the center of the exam on the exam date along with a valid ID proof.

IBSAT 2017 Preparation Tips

Since the format and the kind of questions asked in IBSAT is more or less similar to other management entrance examinations, your preparation strategy should remain the same. What you can additionally do is the practice as many sample tests as possible. This helps you to get familiar with the pattern of the paper and also increases your level of confidence when you are facing the actual test.

Documents to be Carried

The candidate needs to carry the following items along with to the test center:

Admit card – The mandatory document that need to be carried to the test center, in absence of which the candidate will not be allowed for the test.

Photo Identification proof – Acceptable Identification documents are Driving license, passport, Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, College ID (Supported with a valid ATM / Debit / Credit Card with candidate's name), Employee Identification Card, or a notarized Affidavit with photo, signature, date of birth and residential address.
Photo identification proof should be original and valid i.e. should not be expired. The name and details in the Photo Identification proof should match with the details filled in the IBSAT application form. Photocopies of original documents will not be acceptable.

IBSAT 2017 Syllabus

The candidates need to be aware of the syllabus of the examination to ensure a good amount of preparation. The syllabus for IBSAT remains the same across the following portions: Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative, Aptitude and Data Interpretation. 

The Verbal Ability Syllabus has about 50 questions that test a topic relating to basic usage of the language having questions from the following topics:

  1. Vocabulary (Synonyms/Antonyms, Analogies, Fill in the Blanks)
  2. General English Usage
  3. English Grammar application
  4. Jumbled Sentence

IBSAT 2017 Result

The IBSAT Result shall be announced by IBS Hyderabad. The examinees who attempt IBSAT 2017 would be shortlisted on the basis of scores achieved by them. The IBSAT Examinees would be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in NMAT, GMAT and CAT. 

The IBSAT Examination is held annually held to offer admissions to aspirants belonging to MBA and PGDM Courses. 

IBSAT Result can be checked by giving details such as application number and password.
