The Xavier Aptitude Test prominently known as XAT is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by Xavier School of Management (XLRI) on account of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI).  XAT is conducted every year to select potential students for management programmes offered in top business schools, associated with the institution as part of XAMI. Apart for XAMI 150 other management colleges also accept XAT score for shortlisting students in their management programmes.

XLRI has been conducting XAT exam for more than 60 years now. Last year the pattern of the entrance exam was changed from offline pen-paper mode to computer-based online mode. The XAT question paper is divided into two parts depending on the type of question, one is objective type and other is subjective type. The examination pattern can also be divided into moderate and difficult depending upon the difficulty level of the examination.

  • Paper A is Subjective Type and allotted 140 minutes for that.
  • Paper B which is objective type and 40 minutes are allotted for that.

The two papers need to be attempted in a single slot of the exam in the given time period of 3 hours.
