What is SNAP ?

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) is the entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International University for admission to MBA programs offered by its institutes. A candidate is required to register for SNAP Test & then register with the institutes offering the choice of program aspired by the candidate, by paying separate institution registration fees. If shortlisted, the candidate would then attend the GE-PIWAT process conducted by each of these institutes.

SNAP 2018 will be conducted on December 16, 2018

Symbiosis international university has released the notification that SNAP exam will be taking place on December 16, 2018. It will be in online mode. The time duration for the SNAP Test will be 120 minutes. There will be 150 multiple choice objective type questions in four sections. The total intake on each symbiosis is around 1867 for postgraduate management program through SNAP 2018.

The SNAP Eligibility for this year is the same as last year. Candidates should have a bachelors degree with a minimum of 50 percent marks and in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates, a relaxation of 5% is provided i.e the candidate of the reserved category should have a minimum of 45 percent aggregate marks at the graduation level. Also, the final year students can apply to this exam provided they get their result at the time of admission.

Below you can also view the reservation guidelines of SNAP Exam as per UGC:

  1. Sanctioned Intakes
    • SC - 15%
    • ST - 7.5%
    • DA - 3%
  2. Above Sanctioned Intake
    • Kashmiri migrant - 2 seats per program
    • International students - 15%

The sanctioned intake of SC is 15%, ST is 7.5% whereas other categories have an intake of 3%. Also, other than that Kashmiri migrant has 2 seats per program and or international students 15% is allocated.

Note: There is no reservation in Symbiosis Institutes of Management Studies.

SNAP 2018 Online Application Procedure is likely to be started from the 2nd Week of August 2018. Candidates need to properly check the SNAP Application Form accurately and thereafter pay the application from fees. The application Fee for SNAP 2018 is INR 1750 + Taxes and the mode of application fee payment is through Credit Card, Net Banking, Cash and Demand Draft.

SNAP 2018 Eligibility

To appear for the SNAP 2018 exam, the candidates have to check the SNAP eligibility condition to sit in the SNAP 2018 exam.

Here are the basic Eligibility Criteria for SNAP 2018-

  • Candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from Statutory University with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates) for all the Master of Business Administration Programs, except for the Programs, which require a graduate with specific subject specializations.
  • Any student who has qualified a degree from the foreign university must obtain an equivalence certificate from AIU (Association of Indian Universities). The candidate has to verify the foreign degrees from AIU before taking admission.

SNAP 2018 Application Procedure

A candidate can follow the below steps to complete the SNAP 2018 Registration:

  • Register online on the official website at snaptest.org. The registration dates have not been released yet. For 2018 the online registration is expected to start from the month of August.
  • To establish identity, Upload your recent scanned colour photograph.

Modes of Payment for the SNAP Test process  

Given below are instructions for payment of SNAP Test fee of  1750 INR  

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH CREDIT CARD

  • The candidate can pay directly through a Master or Visa card online by following the instructions on the SNAP website after the registration.  

ONLINE PAYMENT THROUGH NET BANKING

  • The candidate may transfer SNAP test fee to Symbiosis Test Secretariat account using Net Banking option after the registration.  

PAYMENT THROUGH CASH

  • After online SNAP 2017 registration print 'Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan' from the SNAP website.
  • It is in 3 parts. Pay Rs. 1750/- in cash at any Axis Bank or Indian Bank branch in your city.
  • Refer to the list of branches on the website.
  • The bank will return two stamped parts of the 'Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan' to the candidate.
  • Candidates need to keep the Candidate copy as payment receipt. Sign the stamped 'Symbiosis copy' of the 'Axis Bank or Indian Bank Challan' and send it to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat at the address given on this page.  

PAYMENT THROUGH DEMAND DRAFT

  • Obtain a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs. 1750/- from any Nationalized Bank in favour of "Symbiosis Test Secretariat" payable at Pune.
  • Fill DD details in the DD payment option in SNAP website and take a print out of 'Payment Advice' form for DD and send it along with the DD to the Symbiosis Test Secretariat only at the following Address.
  • The photocopy of the Demand Draft should be retained for future reference.

SNAP 2018 Admit Card

SNAP 2018 Admit Card will be available for download on the SNAP Application procedure is completed. The Admit Cards will be released on the official website.

SNAP 2018 Preparation Tips

SNAP 2018 will be conducted on December 16, 2018. There are 4 Sections in the exam and the total time duration is 120 minutes. The Sections are:

  • Section 1– Reading Comprehension, Verbal Ability, Verbal Reasoning – 40 marks
  • Section 2– Quantitative Aptitude – 40 marks
  • Section 3– General Knowledge – 40 marks
  • Section 4– Logical Reasoning – 60 marks

In order to prepare for the exam, one should be well aware of the SNAP 2018 Syllabus. Here are some of the section wise preparation tips and strategies that one must keep in mind.

General Knowledge

  • For the preparation of this section in SNAP, one must begin by reading the Manorama Yearbook 2018. It will also prove to be helpful in the Group Discussions, Written Ability Test, and the Personal Interviews.
  • Apart from that, keep reading a national daily (preferably The Hindu or The Indian Express). The editorial sections of these newspapers are a must read.  Also if possible, try to get a hang of the GK material provided by coaching institutes like CL, TIME and others every year.
  • One can also find Pratiyogita Darpan quite useful for current GK.
  • Be aware that the questions asked in this section are not run of the mill and considerable knowledge is required on the part of students. Business GK, Current GK, corporate, economics etc areas are some favourites for this exam.

SNAP 2018 Exam Pattern

SNAP exam is one of the famous MBA Exams among the MBA Aspirants. To clear the SNAP exam, SNAP exam pattern is essential to know for a candidate. By knowing the SNAP Exam Pattern, the candidate can direct his/her preparation accordingly.

The duration of the test is 120 minutes i.e. 2 Hours.

The SNAP exam is split into 4 sections-

SNAP 2018 Result

The Result will be declared within 15 days after the examination. The SNAP 2018 is scheduled to be conducted on December 16, 2018. The SNAP 2018 Result will comprise of section-wise and scaled scores obtained by the candidates. 

Steps to Download SNAP Result:

  • Visit the official website of SNAP
  • Search for the 'Result' link available on the homepage
  • Provide your SNAP Registration ID and Password
  • Click on 'Login'
  • SNAP Result will appear on the screen
  • Download it and take a printout for further reference

SNAP Cut-Offs

The SNAP 2018 Cutoff will be declared after the announcement of SNAP 2018 Result. All the participating institutes will release their individual cut-offs for various management programs once the result is declared

SNAP 2018 Counseling Details

Candidates should prepare on following points before attending SNAP Counseling:

  1. A candidate has to confirm its ranking based on merit list and then has to confirm the counseling date from the official website of SNAP Counseling.
  2. A candidate has to also decide its choice of course before he/she wishes to appear for SNAP counseling, but based on its ranking he/she may get the course of his choice.

SNAP 2018 Selection Procedure

SNAP Selection Procedure is described in the infographic mentioned below. It is a stepwise process which starts with appearing for SNAP Exam, getting shortlisted for the evaluation. The third step is a group exercise, then personal interview followed by a written ability test.

The SNAP Selection Procedure typically consists of two steps which are followed by the participating institutes once the exam is conducted. Based on the performance of the candidates, participating institutes would be shortlisting candidates. 

The SNAP Result will be declared after the successful completion of SNAP Exam which is scheduled to be conducted on December 16, 2018. In the second step of the SNAP Selection Procedure, candidates would be applying for Group Exercise, Personal Interview, and Written Ability Test Rounds. The participating institutes would be announcing the list of shortlisted candidates by January 2018, most preferably in the third week. 

The SNAP Merit List is expected to be announced in the month of February. If a candidate clears the cutoff of a particular SNAP Institute, he would be shortlisted to appear for Group Exercise, Written Ability Test, and Personal Interview Rounds. The SNAP Merit List would be generated based on the overall performance of the candidates in SNAP Selection Rounds

  • English is the easiest section and can be attempted first. Candidates should brush up their basic grammar and not try to complicate their preparation by revising elaborate grammar rules.
  • While attempting the comprehension, aspirants should try to read the questions before the paragraph as it becomes easy to mark answers while you read.
  • There will be questions from Media and latest news events. Students appearing for the SIMC Pune test must take a look at important events of past two months. This will take only two hours and build a strong base to attempt the General Knowledge section.
  • For the Analytical & Logical Reasoning section, revise it a day before only if you have been practicing regularly. Otherwise, leave the section to focus on a section which one feels comfortable with.
  • It is important that the preparation is not complex; one must try to remain calm and understand that most of the things in the paper are basic and simple.
