There are 31 NITs across the country offering around 19,000 seats to the engineering aspirants. The National Institutes of Technology being Institutes of National Importance are explicitly recognized and funded by the Government of India. These institutes fall under the category of the Top Ranked Engineering Colleges. The NITs are free to set up their own curriculum as they are autonomous public institutes and the language of command is English in all the NITs.

Lakhs of candidates across the country aspire to pursue their engineering from the National Institutes of Technology and the number of applications received increases with every passing year. Admission to one of the NITs takes place based on the marks obtained by aspirants in 12th Class and Join Entrance Examination i.e. JEE Main.

Students must secure at least 75% marks (65% marks in case of Reserved Categories) in aggregate or be in Top 20 Percentile in Class 12th exams from a recognized board.

Here in this article, the list of the Top 10 is presented along with the number of seats they offer for admission to help students pick the best college to pursue their career.
