Latest Updates: The JEE Main registration is now open, with 14 march as the last date to apply. The dates for the JEE Main Session 2 Test are April 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, and 12. The placement report for 2023 for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Agartala has not yet been made available on the official website. The NIRF report 2023, however, was just made public. The report states that 106 MTech students and 619 BTech students in total were placed during the NIT Agartala placements 2022. For both BTech and MTech students, the average compensation was INR 7.50 LPA and INR 6.50 LPA, respectively.

About NIT Agartala: The National Institute of Technology, Agartala was established in the year 1965 as Tripura Engineering College. Later in the year 2006, it was declared as the National Institute of Technology. Soon after its establishment, the institute was affiliated to Calcutta University and in the year 1987, after the establishment of Tripura University, the institute was affiliated with it. In the year 2006, the institute was given the status of Deemed to be University and is funded by the Central Government. The institute ranks on 11th position among all the NITs in India. The NIRF and ARIIA have ranked and acknowledged NIT Agartala, which is renowned for its B.Tech. flagship programme )A general category applicant must have a JEE Main rank between 22415 and 54501 to be accepted into the B.Tech. CSE programme. In addition to this, NIT Agartala offers a wide range of UG and PG programmes and provides a superior education in the fields of engineering, management, fundamental science, and the humanities.

Other specialised courses in engineering and technology, like hydro informatics and aeronautics, have lately been added by the institute. Furthermore, NIT Agartala is the first NIT in India to house a Kendriya Vidyalaya within its walls. NIT Agartala Courses include nine programs at  Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels. These programs are offered in the field of engineering such as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical, Electronic & Computer Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechanical Engineering, and Production Engineering. The institute also offers dual-degree programmes in Engineering Physics Applied Science, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The institute comprises of 15 Academic Departments with 2530 students studying in it every year. The Institute was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation in the year 2013. The campus area is spread over 462 acres comprising academic blocks, classrooms, a library, computer facilities, workshops, laboratories, and sports facilities. The institute also has four hostels, three for male students and one for female students. The institute also organizes a four-day annual cultural festival called Moksha and an annual techno-management festival called Aayam.

NIT Agartala Placement: Every year numerous companies visit NIT Agartala and offer hundreds of jobs to the students. TATA, ITC, ERA, Wipro, HCL, Cognizant, Denso India Pvt. Ltd. are among top recruiters.

NIT Agartala Placements

The 2021 NIT Agartala Placements are over. 605 students were placed during the placement drive, of which 525 were undergraduates and 80 were graduate students. The offered median compensation was INR 6 LPA. Participants in the placement drive included recruiters from Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Mphasis, among others.
