About NIT Manipur
NIT Manipur is said to be one of the thirty-one NITs of India. NIT Manipur is said to be situated in Imphal, Manipur. NIT Manipur is an institute of national importance. The establishment took place in the academic year of 2010 and NIT Manipur built with funding support of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.Â
NIT Manipur is said to have started its first session with only three branches of Engineering namely Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Computer Science & Engineering. Two more engineering branches have been added over these years, Civil engineering and Mechanical engineering.
One of the major aspects of the NIT Manipur is the campus of NIT Manipur. The infrastructure of NIT Manipur is made up of a campus spread over an area of 341.5 acres. The NIT Manipur Campus is surrounded by the scenic beauty of Imphal. NIT Manipur is administered by the Director of the institute and is supervised by the Boards of Governors.Â
The students of NIT Manipur are provided with all the basic infrastructural facilities. They have been given a centralized library with all the recent and informative books. They have upgraded laboratories with the latest equipment. The entire campus of NIT Manipur is networked through LAN (Local Area Network).Â
NIT Manipur also has Boys’ and Girls’ hostel facilities for the students coming from out of Manipur. It has medical facilities, banking & post office facilities, and transportation facilities. NIT Manipur offers UG and PG programs. B.Tech at the undergraduate level, M.Tech, and M.Sc at postgraduate level. NIT Manipur also offers Ph.D. There are six academic departments in NIT Manipur namely civil engineering, computer science & engineering, electrical & electronics engineering, electronics & communication engineering, mechanical engineering, and humanities & social sciences.

- NIT Manipur also known as the National Institute of Technology Manipur, embarked on its educational journey around August 2, 2010. This momentous inception took place at the Government Polytechnic, Takyelpat Campus, initially offering three branches of Engineering: Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering.
- It was a humble beginning, but NIT Manipur had ambitious plans.
- Over the years, NIT Manipur has successfully expanded and is now firmly rooted in its Permanent Campus at Langol, Imphal. This lush green, sprawling campus, covering 341.5 acres of land, offers an ideal backdrop for academic pursuits of NIT Manipur.
- NIT Manipur is said to be operating under the guidance of a dedicated Board of Governors (BOG), with the Director overseeing its day-to-day administration. Registered under the Manipur Societies Registration Act, 1989, the NIT Manipur is following a well-structured system.Â
- Academic policies of NIT Manipur are crafted by the Senate and approved by the BOG, with the Dean (Academic) ensuring their implementation.Â
- Planning and development are overseen by the Dean (P & D), while student affairs are managed by the Dean (Student Welfare). The Registrar is the custodian of NIT Manipur  records and the conduit for administrative orders, reporting directly to the Director of NIT Manipur.
NIT Manipur is said to be an autonomous institute of national importance and it has expanded its offerings. Starting in the academic year 2013-14, two more B.Tech courses, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering, were introduced, further enriching the academic landscape.Â
NIT Manipur is said to be admitting around 150 students annually, with 50% of the seats reserved for Manipur residents and the other 50% for students from across India, who must qualify through the JEE exam as per the brochure of NIT Manipur.
In a global outreach initiative, NIT Manipur has initiated the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) program in 2013-14 as it made its mark on the international education stage. Faculty: The teachers are extremely helpful,they are very talented.
College: The infrastructure of NIT, Manipur is average because of continuous rains. There is high-speed Wi-Fi facility available. Classrooms are good. Two libraries are good.
