National Institute of Technology, Jamshedpur Highlights

The infrastructure of the institute is spread over an area of 341 acres of land. One of the administrative units of NIT Jamshedpur is known as Infrastructure Planning and Development. The unit is particularly responsible for planning, design, construction, renovation, maintenance, and development of all infrastructure requirements and facilities of the institute.

The academic infrastructure of the institute includes Library and the computer center. The library is further divided into Reading room and Stack room.
The reading room stores Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Handbooks, Newspapers, popular magazines, Journal & Reference books.
The computer center of the institute is constructed in oval structure. The unit accommodates central computing facilities. The center primarily offers computational services, laboratory services, and network services.
It also houses three PC laboratories, out of which two are used for undergraduate and postgraduate classes and the other one is for internet services.
The campus houses 1 Tennis court, 2 Volleyball courts, 1 Basketball court, 6 Badminton courts, 9 Table Tennis, 1 Gymnasium, 2 Cricket grounds, and 1 Athletic ground.
Hostel and staff quarter facilities are provided to the students and staff coming from out of the city. There are 9 Boys’ hostel and 4 Girls’ hostel.

Courses at NIT Jamshedpur

The institute offers Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Doctoral level programs in Engineering, Computer Applications and Science. NIT Jamshedpur Courses include B. Tech at the undergraduate level, M. Tech, MCA and M. Sc at the postgraduate level, and PhD program at the Doctorate level.

The candidates seeking admission to any of the programs offered by the institute must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute.

NIT Jamshedpur Admissions can be achieved online by visiting the official website of the institute. The admission procedure is primarily based on the respective entrance examinations conducted on the national levels.

Candidates seeking admission to B. Tech must qualify JEE Main examination.

For postgraduate program

For admission to the M. Tech program, the candidates must qualify GATE examination.
Admission to M. Sc requires qualifying IIT JAM examination.
Candidates seeking admission to MCA are shortlisted based on their marks in NIMCET examination.

For admission to the PhD program, the candidates are shortlisted based on the merit in the last qualifying examinations followed by the written examination and interview round conducted by the institute.
