SSC CGL 2020 Application Procedure

SSC CGL invited application for Combined Graduate Level on April 21, 2018. The Last Date to fill the SSC CGL Application form was May 25, 2018. The SSC CGL Application Form was available in an online mode only.

The SSC CGL Application Fee would be paid both in online and offline modes

The SSC CGL Application Procedure has been explained as below:

1) Registration

Once the link for SSC CGL Application Form is clicked, the candidates should provide their personal details and contact details to complete their preliminary step. Once the Registration ID is generated, the candidate should log in with the details and resume filling the application form. Candidates would additionally have to update their photograph and signature with their registered account.

Photo: The photograph should be white/light colored and should not be more than 4 Kb in size. The photo resolution should be 100*120. The photograph of the candidates should be clearly visible.

Signature: The signature should be either in Blue/Black. The scanned copy of the photograph should be in jpeg format and should be more than 1 Kb and less than 12 Kb. 

Candidates also have an option to edit in case any wrong information has been entered while completing the SSC CGL Registration Procedure.

2) Filling up Form

Candidates can go through all the preliminary fields that have been filled to check if no information has been omitted or missed. Once a final review is done, the application form can be submitted.

The SSC CGL Application Fee can be paid both in an online and offline mode. Candidates can remit the application fees in a particular branch of the bank and update their payment details on the respective log in to confirm that payment has been made.

Candidates belonging to these categories are exempted from the application fees:

  • Women candidates

  • Scheduled Caste candidates

  • Scheduled Tribes candidates

  • Physically Handicapped candidates

  • Ex-Servicemen candidates

SSC CGL 2020 Eligibility

The candidate appearing for SSC CGL 2018 must be:

  • An Indian Citizen; OR
  • Subjects of Nepal or Bhutan; OR
  • A Tibetan refugee who has come to India, before 1st January 1962, 
  • A person belonging to India migrating from Burma, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar ), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to settle down in India permanently.
  • A certificate issued to the extent of the categories mentioned in Steps 2,3 and 4.

Age Limit:

It differs from post to post. The Commission accepts the DOB mentioned on the Matriculation / Secondary Examination Certificate only. However, like most government exam there is a relaxation of the age limit criteria for candidates belonging to different categories. However, the average age limit is from 18 to 31 years for all the posts.

Educational Qualification:

The bare minimum academic eligibility for a candidate is to have a Bachelor's degree. There are other criteria such as minimum percentage, which applies to few posts.
Assistant Audit Officer: Bachelor's from a University, Chartered Accountant, MBA(Finance), company secretary or Masters in Commerce or Masters in Business Economics.
Statistical Investigator: At least a Bachelor's degree in any subject with at least 60% in Maths in 12th standard or statistics as one of the subject in graduation.
Compiler: Bachelor's degree in any subject with Economics, maths or stats as a compulsory subject.

SSC CGL 2020 Admit Card

The admit card for TIER I would be available 10 days before the exam. Admit cards vary across Tier 1,2,3 and 4 of the exam

  • Enter your roll number or registration number along with the captcha.
  • Click on the submit button to download your admit card.
  • Candidates are advised to cross-check the details on the admit card.
  • A printed copy of the admit card is necessary. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall without a copy of the admit card.
  • The admit card for TIER II will be available for download only by those candidates who qualify in Tier I.The admit card for Tier II is expected around the first week of October.
