Top IIMS in India:The Ivy League schools for management courses in India are called Indian Institutes of Management, or IIMs. IIMs provide programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate levels for a successful management career. IIMs are regarded as the top management institutes in India among the hundreds of management institutions for producing managers and business leaders.
The IIMs are regarded as the top colleges for management education and training by leading international corporations. The IIMs have the most stringent selection criteria with a low acceptance rate because of their high demand and demanding programs. Presently, there are 20 IIMs in total, including new IIMs.
Jawaharlal Nehru, the esteemed prime minister of India, founded the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). These are a group of 13 self-governing management and research institutions in India. The improvement of management education in India was the primary goal of the formation of IIMs. Executive education, PhD, and postgraduate programs are the main courses provided by the IIMs.
IIMs are registered as societies under the Indian Societies Registration Act. Each IIM operates autonomously on a daily basis and is a self-governing entity. The overall management and strategy of all IIMs, however, are under the supervision of the IIM council. The Minister of Human Resource Development, together with top officials from the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Indian government, make up the majority of the IIM Council.

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A) was founded on December 11, 1961, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, immediately after the IIM Calcutta. It is one of India's top public business schools, also known as WIMWI (Well-known Institute Of Management In Western India). The Hindu Business Line-MBA Universe ranked this IIM Branch first in 2016.

The Indian Institute of Calcutta (IIM-C) was founded on November 13, 1961 (54 years) at Joka, Kolkata, West Bengal by the Government of India in conjunction with the Alfred P. The fourth installment of the prestigious IIMs Business School is the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L). It was founded in 1984 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with the slogan "Better management for a better nation," and it now acts as the mentor for two new IIMs: IIM Rohtak and IIM Kashipur. In 2005, it became the first IIM school to open a satellite campus in Noida, Delhi NCR, dedicated only to executive education. This IIM College has exchange agreements with 24 of the world's top business schools.

Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (IIM-Kashipur) was founded in 2011 in Kashipur, Uttarakhand, to give superior management education and elite leaders to the country. With an in-house education loan, the 2016-18 class is projected to be admitted to their new and permanent campus on roughly 200 acres of land in the Escorts Farm region of Kashipur. Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) inked between them, it is the first IIM campus to seek assistance from Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited (BECIL) in establishing an FM Community Radio Station.

The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak (IIM-R) is the eighth installment, founded in November 2009 in Rohtak, Haryana. It is the first IIM to be approved by the Union Cabinet, having been mentored by IIM Lucknow in its first year of operation. Mr. Ravi Kant, former Vice Chairman of Tata Motors Ltd., inaugurated it in the presence of IIM Lucknow. IIM Rohtak recently launched live and interactive learning in digital format through online entrepreneurship programs.

The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM-S) was founded in 2007 in Shillong, Meghalaya, with the goal of expanding and mobilizing education and research capabilities in India's north-eastern states. The institute was created by Shri. Arjun Singh, Union Minister of Human Resource Development, and is located at the Mayurbhanj Palace, the summer residence of the Mayurbhanj Kings of Odisha. Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam delivered his final lecture on Creating a Liveable Planet in 2015 at IIM Shillong College. On the first anniversary of his death, the college launched the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Lecture Series in his honor.

The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIM-U) is one of the IIMs established in Udaipur, Rajasthan, by the Central Government of India during its Eleventh Five-Year Plan in 2011.It is now operating from a temporary location at Mohanlal Sukhadia University's Polymer Science Building (MLSU). The Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIM-V), popularly known as IIM Vizag, began its inaugural batch in August 2015 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, under the supervision of the Indian Institute of Bangalore. The three steps of the IIM selection procedure are listed below. Following the release of the CAT scores, the students will proceed as follows:
Candidates must submit an application for the WAT/GD-PI round on each IIM's official website as soon as the CAT results are available. Candidates who make the shortlist must login using their CAT IDs and submit both their names and CAT scorecards.
The applicants who have submitted for WAT/GD-PI at this stage of the selection process are further shortlisted based on their CAT scores as well as their academic records, and then invitations to interviews are given out.
At this step, each candidate's composite score is determined based on numerous characteristics to determine his or her selection. The ultimate selection procedure for IIM admission entails evaluating an applicant on certain characteristics and calculating his or her composite score. This formula takes into account eight major factors: 10 class score, 12 class score, Graduation Score, performance in WAT/GD-PI, Academic Diversity (for applicants with non-engineering backgrounds), Gender Diversity (priority for female and transgender students), and Work Experience (1-5 years of work experience preferred).
The ROI of IIMs is significant since the average compensation offered during final campus placements in major IIMs is between INR 20-25 lakh per annum. The average salary offer is complementary to the MBA/PGP fee in other IIMs as well. ROI may be defined as the difference between the money a student invests in a course and the return he or she receives in the form of placement.
