JEE Mains 2019: Bharat Band will not affect West Bengal aspirants

National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct JEE Main 2019 from today in all the major cities across the country. As thousands of students who are scheduled to sit for the examination on the 1st day of Joint Engineering Entrance Examination, there is a constant worry among parents and students because of the ongoing Bharat Band which will affect transport and other facilities make it difficult for aspirants to reach examination center.

 JEE Mains 2019: Bharat Band will not affect West Bengal aspirants

The Government of West Bengal has addressed the concerned and decided to provide a special transport facility to the students of the state so that they can reach their respective examination centers safely and on time. It is important to note that all the schools and colleges will remain close to observing the consequences of the strike.

The two days Bharat Bandh was called by CPIM-led trade union (CITU). The strike will not affect the students said the Education Minister of West Bengal Partha Chatterjee.  He addressed the issue said that “The government is in the support of candidates, if they face any problem, the administration will surely help them.”

Giving more details on the preparation done by the government to help the candidates the officials said that as many as 2,200 buses are allotted in Kolkata today between major locations to all examination centers and will transport the candidates.  To make the process more helpful for students 30 percent of the buses are on standby for emergency needs. The government has also set up kiosks at all the examination center to extend more help to students. The kiosks are functional from January 8th to January 12th in 24*7 format to assist students and smooth conduct of the JEE Mains 2019.

Joint Engineering Entrance Examination is one of the most popular exams of the country and opens doors of many colleges for the aspirants as most of the engineering colleges accept JEE Mains Score. Candidates qualifying JEE Mains with good ranks will also be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, which is a mandatory examination for admission in any of the IITs.

This is the 1st time when JEE Main will be conducted by NTA in fully computer-based pattern and twice in a year. The next session of JEE Main will be conducted in the month of April.
