JEE Mains 2019: NTA issues important instructions for students

Thousands of students across the country is going to appear tomorrow for one of the most popular engineering entrance examinations. As per the notifications of National Testing Agency (NTA), the Joint Engineering Entrance Examination is going to start from January 8, 2019, and will be conducted in multiple session till January 12, 2019. The candidates qualifying JEE Main with good scores will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced.

This is the first time there is a change in the Exam Pattern of JEE Main as from this year onward the examination will be conducted by NTA in the computer-based test. The JEE Main will be conducted twice a year.

Aspirants of JEE Main 2019, who still had not downloaded the JEE Main Admit Card can visit the official website jeemain.nic.in and can download the same. It is important to have the admit card as it will contain all the information regarding the examination like Examination Centre, Date, and reporting time of the examination.

Just prior to the examination NTA has released a set of instructions for the aspirants on the official website of JEE Mains 2019 i.e. jeemain.nic.in and students are advised to follow the same.

JEE Mains 2019: Do’s and Don’ts

NTA has set few rules to be strictly followed by the candidate during the examination as this is the first time the exam is being conducted online. The instructions are mentioned below:

  • Candidates are advised to go through the Admit card carefully and note down the respective Date of the examination, Shift timing of the examination, Complete Address of the Examination Centre, Reporting time of the center and the closing time the examination center. Candidates should follow the examination reporting time very strictly as no candidate will be allowed post the closing time of the examination center gates. Candidates can take an advance trip of the examination center one or two days before to have the idea of time and route and avoid any last minute panic.
  • Candidates should also consider the fact that there will be a lot of students traveling to their respective examination centre and may result in not availability of transport and traffic jams, so candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least half an before the reporting time.
  • Aspirants need to carry their respective admit card in a good condition to the examination centre (colored printout of Admit card in A4 size is suggested). Along with that candidates also needs to carry the same colored passport size photograph which was used to fill the application form. A valid original photo id proof (PAN Card, Drivers License, Passport or Aadhaar Card and Ration Card) is also a must to be carried.
  • Candidates without a proper ID proof will not be allowed inside the examination centre, ID Cards issued by School, Coaching Centres, AADHAR enrollment receipt without AADHAR number, photocopies and images of ID stored in mobile phones and others will not be accepted.
  • Candidates applied through PwD category needs to carry a valid certificate with them to be shown at the examination centre.
  • Candidates with diabetic medical conditions are allowed to carry their prescribed medicines, fruits and transparent water bottles with them. No packaged food or drink will be allowed.
  • Stationary, Instrument box, Geometry Boxes, Pencil box, Handbag, Purse, any kind of Paper/Stationery/ any kind of printed or written Textual material, Any kind of packaged Eatables and Water bottles, Electronics like Mobile Phones, Ear Phone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, any type of watch including Electronic Watches, calculator, any metallic item or electronic gadgets or devices are not allowed inside the examination centre.
  • Candidates will be provided with required blank paper, pen or pencil inside the examination center for rough work and candidates needs to write their roll number and name on the top right corner of the paper and should be handed back post examination before leaving the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised to wear simple clothes with minimum or no pockets.
