Has JEE Main 2023 Registration Session 2 Ended?

Yes, the JEE Main Session 2 Registration ended on March 12, 2023. The registration process of JEE Main Phase 2 Registration was scheduled to be started from Februay 7, 2023 but due to some unknown reasons, it got delayed. The NTA released the application form for JEE Main Phase 2 Registration at the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in and candidates were able to register themselves via online mode through the JEE Main 2023 Login on the IIT JEE Main official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in. The JEE Mains Registration Form 2023 last date for session 2 was March 12, 2023. Candidates must realise that JEE Main Registration Session 2 window will remain available only for one month and they must fill the NTA JEE Main Application Form 2023 before the last date arrives. 

As per the reports, there were 8.6 Lakh candidates who appeared in JEE Main 2023 Session 1 exam. The percentage of female candidates was recorded to be 30% which was the highest ever. 

The direct link to fill JEE Main Registration was made available at jeemain.nta.nic.in 2023 and on this page. The JEE Main Registration 2023 Date will be different for each JEE Main Session and candidates willing to take IIT JEE Main Exam 2023 must check how to fill JEE Mains Form 2023.

Now that JEE Main 2023 January Session is over, candidates willing to take the exam are eagerly waiting for JEE Main Phase 2 Registration Dates to arrive soon. Now that the application window for JEE Main session 2 registration process was expected to open on February 7, candidates can fill form for JEE Main Exam once the JEE Main Phase 2 Registration window is made live.

JEE Main Exam for Session 2 will be conducted on April 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12, 2023. The dates were released by the NTA through an official notice on its website. 

With new changes brought in JEE Main online application form, candidates can now apply for JEE Main Exam for both the sessions conducted in January and April. Candidates will also be allowed to process the payment of JEE Main application fee for both the sessions. In any case, students are not able to take either of the exams, the JEE Main Registration fees will be refunded to them. Students may apply for the refund by providing the required details.

JEE Main Registration Fee

  • JEE Main Registration Fee for boy candidates belonging to General/ Gen EWS/ OBC (NCL) categories will be INR 1000 for each paper whereas, the JEE Main application fee for girl candidates, it is INR 800 and students belonging to SC/ST/PwD/Transgender will be INR 500 for single paper.

JEE Main Eligibility 2023

Before applying for JEE Mains Exam 2023, candidates must check if they are eligible to apply for the exam by checking JEE Main Eligibility. Students of 12th class with Science stream are considered eligible for taking JEE Main 2023 for admission to B. Tech/B. E., B. Arch, or B. Planning courses. The online NTA JEE Mains 2023 Application form Dates consists of filling of JEE Main online application form, Uploading of required documents, payment of IIT JEE Main fee. Candidates who are able to complete their JEE Main Session 2 Registration and pay JEE Main application fee before the JEE Application Window closes, will be able to download their JEE Main Admit Card from jeemain.nta.nic.in.   • Considering the changes brought in JEE Main Eligibility, candidates with commerce and humanities background also stand eligible to take JEE Main 2023 Exam. These candidates will be allowed to take JEE Main Exam for B. Planning. Candidates must have passed senior secondary school or any equivalent examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

JEE Main 2023 Application Form Correction Window

  • The National Testing Agency (NTA) opens application correction window right after the application procedure is concluded and the window remains open for almost 4-5 days. Here, candidates will be allowed to make changes in their preferences of JEE Main Exam centres choices for the coming sessions.

Candidates who appear in the exam conducted in January 2023 will be allowed to directly log in using their JEE Main 2023 Application Number and Password. Candidates who didn't register for January Session can register themselves for April Session by visiting the official website of JEE Main i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The basic eligibility criterion that candidates must satisfy is qualifying 12th class with PCM from a recognized board in the academic year 2021 and 2022. Candidates appearing in 12th class in 2023 can also apply for the exam irrespective of their age. Applying for the examination consists of various steps that must be completed by candidates in the right order. While filling the application form of JEE Main, candidates must also upload the scanned copy of their passport sized photograph and signature as per the specification defined by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • As per the latest notification, BCECEB has decided not to conduct any separate jee mains form engineering admission. It also added that admission to engineering programs offered by 38 government colleges and 1 private college of Bihar will be done based on candidates' performance in the Joint Entrance Examination Main. The count of total number of seats reaches up to 10,000 and the admission will take place based on marks obtained by candidates in JEE Main.

As per the latest information, there are some few changes introduced by the national testing agency. Candidates are required to follow a set of simple instructions while filling the JEE Main Registration Form 2023. These steps include:

  1. Registration
  2. Filling in applicant's details
  3. Uploading passport sized photograph and signature
  4. Payment of JEE Main application fee (online mode)

While filling in the personal, academic, and contact details during the procedure of registration, candidates must make sure that the details filled in by them are correct. Besides, candidates must process the payment of JEE Main application fee through online mode only such as net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI/Paytm.

After the registration process is completed, a confirmation page showing all the details filled in by a candidate would show up that can later be saved by candidate for future reference.

Are you eligible for JEE Main 2023?

There are four parameters based on which the eligibility or taking JEE Mains exam is defined and it is imperative for candidates to know if they are eligible to take JEE Main 2023 examination or not. Candidates can check these requirements before filling out the JEE Main Registration Form 2023. JEE Main Eligibility would remain the same for exam conducted in both the sessions i.e. June and July.

Following are the requirements one must follow to take JEE Main 2023:

Educational qualification

  • B. Planning – Candidates must score 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in aggregate in 12th class or qualifying examination.
  • B. E/B. Tech – Candidates must pass 12th class with Physics and Mathematics as main subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biology.
  • B. Arch – Candidates must pass qualifying examination with Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics as main subjects.

Number of attempts

  • Candidates can take the exam for 3 years consecutively.
  • Candidates can appear in both the sessions when the exam is conducted twice a year.
  • Sitting through the exam in the same year would be taken as one attempt.

Age limit

  • There is no such age limit defined by NTA for taking JEE Mains Exam.
  • Candidates who completed their 12th class in 2020, 2021, and appearing in 2022 exams would be eligible to take JEE Mains irrespective of their ages.

  • Candidates who completed their 12th class in 2021, 2022, and appearing in 2023 exams would be eligible to take JEE Main.
  • Candidates who completed their school in 2020 and would be completing in 2024 are not considered eligible.

JEE Main Registration 2023 – Required Documents

While filling the application form, candidates would come across a few options which require some of the documents to complete the application procedure. Following are the documents one must keep ready before starting with the registration procedure:

  • Class 10th certificate
  • Class 12th marksheet
  • Scanned copy of passport sized photograph
  • Scanned copy of signature
  • Caste certificate of SC or ST (if required)
  • Domicile certificate
  • Passport

The requirement of documents is different for candidates belonging to outside India. The documents required by foreign candidates are given below:

  • Birth Certificate
  • 12th class marksheet with at least 75% marks in aggregate
  • A valid ID proof
  • Citizen certificate or Passport of parents

Important Instructions:

  • Candidates' photograph should be uploaded only in JPEG format.
  • The signature image uploaded by candidates should be of JPEG format.
  • Aadhar no./passport no./ration card no./bank account no. or any valid government id no. would be considered a valid id proof.

JEE Main 2023 – Registration Procedure

  • Candidates must visit the official website of JEE Main/NTA and navigate to the JEE Main Application Page.
  • Click on the tab “Apply for JEE Main 2023
  • Click on “Fresh Candidates Registration” tab on the redirected tab if you are applying for JEE main for the first time.
  • Click on the checkbox of “Proceed to Apply”

Candidates would be redirected to a page where they can fill the JEE Mains 2023 registration form available online. Candidates must register themselves for online application form. Right after the registration procedure completes, candidates would receive and application/registration number and password on their registered email id and mobile no. The JEE Mains 2023 registration form requires the following details that candidates must enter correctly:

JEE Main Application

Candidates must provide their correct contact details such as email and mobile number they would be intimated on for further communication. These contact details include Address, City, Email Address, Pin Code, Mobile Number, etc.

After these details are filled, candidates must choose a password and a security question and confirm them at the end of the registration procedure.

Post completion of registration procedure, candidates would be redirected to fill the application form for JEE Main 2022. Candidates have to log in by entering the JEE Main 2023 application number and password sent to them on their email registered during registration. The next step after uploading the documents is processing the payment of NTA JEE 2023 Application Fee. JEE Main Registration Fee can be paid through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, UPI/PayTm, or E-challan. The application fee varies for each category of students.
