JEE Main 2019 Application Procedure

JEE Main 2019 Application Procedure for January attempt has been closed. However, the JEE Main registrations for April attempt will commence from ­­­March 18, 2019. The candidates with a minimum of 75 percent aggregate in Class XII can apply for JEE main at nta.ac.in. The candidates of reserved category require 65 percent aggregate.

The online application form for January session is released in the month of September whereas the same for April session are released in the month of February.

Prior to filling the JEE Main Application Form, candidates are required to keep the following documents ready:

  • Passport size photo and signature scanned copies
  • Grade 10 Documents
  • Grade 12 Documents
  • Aadhaar card
  • Passport number/Ration Card Number/Voter ID/Bank Details
  • Debit/Credit
  • Email ID and Phone number

The process to fill the JEE Main Application Form are as follows:

  1. Registration: Candidates would be required to click on the link which would take them to the registration window. The following details are required to be entered on the JEE Main Registration page.
  • Eligibility stage
  • Nationality
  • Identification Details
  • Name of the candidate
  • Gender and Date of Birth
  • Security Pin
  • Submit Button can be clicked

     2. Application Form Filling:  Once the candidates enter the required details, the candidates would be required to enter the following details:

  • Details regarding the mode of examination, the course that they would be applying for and the medium would have to be provided by the candidate. Once the preferred exam mode is given the JEE Main Examination center can be selected. For the pen and paper mode, candidates would be required to choose 4 centers in the order of preference and for CBT one center choice would be required to be indicated.
  • Candidates would be entering their personal details such as name, contact number, category, date of birth, gender and nationality. Candidates would also be required to give their Aadhar Card number and Address.
  • Qualifying examination details such as Grade 12 percentage, year of passing and other associated details about the institution they are from would be required to be provided. Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination would also have to give details about the exam that they are qualifying.
  • Applicants would be providing their contact details along with their address of residence.
  • Details about Parents/Guardians, their occupation and compensation would be required to be provided.
  • Candidates would also be required to choose their password before signing in to the account along with the choice of a security question and answer.

     3. Scanned images to be uploaded: Candidates would be required to upload their recent passport size photo and signature with the below-mentioned specifications:

Name & Date of the photograph taken to be printed on the photo. To be taken without a cap or glasses.

Polaroid photos would not be accepted.

Signature of the candidate to match with that mentioned in the 10th or 12th-grade certificate. The signature should be visible.

 

   4. JEE Main Application Fee payment: Every candidate would be required to make the JEE Main application fee payment for validating the application procedure. Prior to making the payment, candidates should review the JEE Main Application Form by clicking on review application mode and make the changes that are required. 

  5. Printout of the confirmation page: Once the payment is made, if the status of the application fee payment is fine, candidates can take a printout of the same. Candidates should take a printout of the acknowledgment page and store it for future reference. The Acknowledgement slip is not required to be sent to the Secretariat.

JEE Main 2019 Eligibility

The Eligibility Criteria of JEE Main examination has been declared by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The candidates aspiring to appear for JEE Main examination must fulfill the determined Eligibility Criteria to apply for the examination. The JEE Main eligibility criteria include the following factors - Qualification, Age limit, Attempt number, year of appearing and other relevant details.

It must be noted that the JEE Main Eligibility Criteria determines whether the candidate can appear for the examination or not. It doesn't deal with eligibility for admissions in NITs, IIITs, SFTIs and CFTIs. Earlier the examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) but from the current year, the examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). From the year 2019, the examination will be conducted twice a year i.e. in the month of January and April.

  • Subjects of the Qualifying Examination
  • Marks secured by the candidate in the Qualifying Examination
  • Remaining number of attempts

Age Limit

  • There is no maximum age limit to appear for JEE Main examination.
  • The candidate must have passed Class XII or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board in the year 2017 or 2018.
  • The candidate appearing for Class XII or an equivalent examination in the current year can also appear for JEE Main examination.

JEE Main 2019 Admit Card

The JEE Main Admit Card will be released on March 18, 2019. Candidates who register would alone be able to log in and download JEE Main Admit Card. In order to access the Admit Card, the candidates would be required to submit their application number, personal details like pin and date of birth. The Admit Card is an important document that the candidates would be required to keep it safe and produce in the examination venue.

The JEE Main Admit Card will have details of the candidate such as their name, timings of the exam, exam center information, application number and other related details. The candidates will be required to bring in JEE Main Admit Cards with their Identity Proof on the examination day.

The National Testing Agency will be conducting JEE Main examination twice a year. According to the notification released by the NTAPaper 1 will be conducted in Computer-based mode whereas Paper 2 will be Computer-based for Mathematics and Aptitude test and Paper-pen-based for Drawing testJEE Main Paper 1 & Paper 2 are scheduled to be conducted from April 6 to April 202019JEE Main January attempt was conducted from January 8 to 12, 2019. The Admit Card for April attempt will be released on March 18, 2019.
