JEE Main examination is approaching and as the examination will be conducted twice a year, the candidates will get double chance to qualify the examination. The competition for this exam is pretty on a tough level and the candidate must ensure to do well in the examination in order to get selected. A certain amount of stress always seems to be associated with the country's elite Engineering Examination i.e. JEE Main and JEE Advanced.
JEE Main examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), is done to provide admission into B.Tech courses in NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.About 2.24 Lakh candidates would be qualifying JEE Advanced that offers admission into IITs. This is one of the most important examinations that is conducted for candidates who wish to pursue engineering.
Following are preparations tips for JEE Main:
1. A candidate must know the syllabus:
Prior to beginning preparation for JEE Main, the candidate should refer to an exhaustive list of the syllabus and the topics would have to be studied under Physics, Chemistry and Maths for the entrance examination. A proper schedule can be created after having a look at the official syllabus that has been released by the NTA authorities.
2. Time Table:
After referring to the JEE Main Syllabus, the candidate should create a perfect timetable that would fit their schedule while enough time would be left for preparation with enough days left. Division of the subjects should be done in a way that preparation should not be monotonous. A specific proportion of hours can be divided among each subject so that a candidate can give the same amount of preparation across all subjects.
3. Work on your Basics:
The candidates must ensure that they make their basic concepts strong so that they can correspondingly attempt tougher questions. By having an understanding of the basic concepts, it becomes easier for candidates to attempt tougher questions. Practicing sample papers with a basic understanding of various topics is important to do well in the examination.
4. Work on your Weaker side:
The candidates should focus on those topics that are tough for them and do well by keeping small notes with them for quick referral purposes. By noting down complicated theories and formulae, the candidates must ensure that they revise those topics which are usually tough to understand. By revising and practicing various questions, the candidate shall be clear about them.
5. Notes and Flashcards:
Keeping notes and maintaining a list of formulae would be accessible to students across and would help them gain a good insight into the topics they usually are not strong in. It would also help in quick last minute revision for candidates to ensure a focused preparation that would be just close enough to the exams.
6. Mock Test and Sample Papers:
Attempt of mock and sample papers is one of the important strategies that a candidate must make use of in the course of exam preparation. A mock test would give the candidate an awareness of the actual simulation or the actual exam situation. Sample papers would also help candidates practically apply whatever they have learned. Preparation using mock tests would also help a candidate understand as to how much of the syllabus has been covered and where they would be needing to improve.
7. Topic Revision:
A certain amount of time should be reserved by every candidate every day.In the course of revising previously studies topics, the candidates would be able to retain concepts in a better way.Revision is an integral part of the syllabus as it is highly vast and the candidates have to understand that all the topics are important on the same level and would require a lot of preparation.
8. Strategic Breaks:
A candidate should also understand that taking breaks in between would help improve their concentration levels and recharge them in between to ensure quality preparation for JEE Main Examination.
9. Study Material:
The candidate is also required to choose the right study material in order to do well in the JEE Main Examination. The following study material for various subjects are listed below:
Mathematics:
Important books are:
-
Mathematics 11th and 12th by R. D. Sharma
-
Plane Trigonometry by S. L. Loney
-

10. Determination:
Determination is the only key factor that would help a candidate do well in the JEE Main Examination. If a candidate does not be dedicated in his preparation, there are lesser chances of a candidate doing well in any examination. Hard work only shows good results. The candidate should make sure that he is fully dedicated and passionate about doing well in the examination.
