JEE Main 2018: Metal Detectors to Scan Students

Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE), the Board responsible for conducting the prestigious entrance examination for IITs and Top Engineering Colleges i.e. the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE- Main), has come out with a new plan to ensure that no unfair means are used by candidates appearing for this entrance examination. This year the candidates would be required to pass through the metal detectors installed in the examination halls. This is for the first time that such step has been taken by the Board.
There had been numerous complaints in the past about few candidates using electronic devices to subvert the system and cheat in the examination. To keep a strict check on such issues, CBSE has come out with such stringent measures. The candidates are not allowed to carry Mobile Phones, Electronic watches, and Calculators inside the examination centre. There have been reports of candidates using Bluetooth Enable Gadgets in the past to cheat in the examination. This step would surely help the Board in eradicating such issues.
Joint Entrance Examination i.e. JEE is an engineering entrance examination and the candidates aspiring to get admission to numerous engineering colleges in India, must qualify this entrance exam. The JEE examination comprises of two different exams- JEE Main and JEE Advanced. This year JEE Main 2018 Entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted April 8, 2018 and over 13 lakh students would be appearing for this exam. The exam will be in objective pattern and it is considered to be one of the most challenging entrance examinations of India. At times numerous candidates try to follow the wrong ways to qualify this examination. To keep a check on such issues the CBSE has come up with this Anti-Cheating move which will help the deserving candidates to qualify this entrance examination.
