UGC NET 2020 Application Procedure

To fill the online registration form of UGC NET 2019, the candidate must pursue the following steps:

Step 1- Filling the online application form

  • The online application form for UGC NET 2019 is available on the official website of NTA i.e.
  • The candidates would be required to provide their personal information such as name, father's name, mother's name, e-mail ID, date of birth etc.
  • After submitting this page another page will appear where the candidate should provide their education information which includes class 10th and 12th marks followed by graduation and post-graduation details also.
  • While filling the application form the candidate should clearly notify that whether they are applying for only Assistant Professor or for both Assistant professor and Junior Research Fellowship.
  • The apart from personal and education details, the candidates must necessarily mention their Aadhar number in the application form. The CBSE has made it mandatory to provide Aadhar number except for the candidates of the states of Jammu & Kashmir, Assam, and Meghalaya.
  • After providing the information, the candidate must pay the application fees. The fees can be paid through online modes i.e. debit card, credit card or e-challan. the candidates of the general category are required to pay Rs. 1000 whereas candidates of OBC category must pay Rs. 500. The same for the candidates of SC/ ST/ PwD is Rs. 250.

Step 2- Downloading Admit Card

Once the application process is completed, the candidate must download their UGC NET Admit Card from the official website of NET. The candidate would be required to enter their application number and password to download the admit card. After downloading admit card the candidate must take the printout and carry the admit card along with a photo ID to the examination centre. 

UGC NET 2020 Eligibility

The candidates aspiring to appear for NET must possess a minimum of 55% marks in Master's degree from a college or university recognized by UGC. The candidates of the reserved category would be provided a relaxation of 5% for the same.

The candidates in the final year of their Master's degree can also apply for UGC-NET. Those candidates would be provided provisional admission and will be considered for JRF and Assistant Professor after clearing their Master's degree with a minimum of 55% marks.

UGC NET 2020 Admit Card

UGC NET Admit card for the examination scheduled to be conducted on December 2018 will be released from November 19 by NTA (National Testing Agencies). Aspirants who have already registered for the said examination can visit the official website to get their admit card downloaded. Admit card is one of the most important documents for any examination and in absence of the same candidate will not be entertained in the examination hall. Admit card carry details of the examination center, the timing of the examination and all other relevant details.

As per the changes made in the conducting body of the examination from the year 2018 onwards, NTA will be conducting UGC NET and other exams like JEE MAIN and CBSE will not be associated with these exams anymore. The exams will be conducted on the computer-based online pattern and it is mandatory to bring admit card along.
