JEE Main 2020 – Students seeking admission to B. Arch took JEE Main Paper 2 today i.e. 1st September 2020. JEE Main Exam has been scheduled to be conducted from 1st September 2020 to 6th September 2020. Today was the first day to examination and the exam was conducted in two shifts. The reporting time for aspirants of JEE Main was set to be 7:00 am due to the implementation of safety and precautionary measures taken by the examination center and the examination was scheduled to start from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.

The center did not allow students to carry anything inside the examination hall except the essentials such as JEE Main Admit Card, Pencil Box, and Aadhar Card. Transparent water bottles were allowed.

Precautionary Measures Taken by The Center

Since the examination is being conducted during pandemic COVID-19 situation, the center held a proper arrangement for sanitization of students appearing in the examination. Aspirants of JEE Main were made to go through a sanitization station set up by the center and they were required to sanitize themselves through a foot press lever. Students were previously informed that the entry will be restricted after 8:30 am. Students could carry their personal masks, but they were not allowed to enter wearing them. They were given separate surgical mask to take the exam with no physical frisking done.

It is reported by the students that they were allowed entry right after the screening procedure was completed by them. The invigilators gave them ball point pens right before the examination was started.

JEE Main B. Arch Paper Analysis Conducted on 1st September 2020

This analysis is written based on students’ experience of taking JEE Main 2020 Paper 2 i.e. JEE Main B. Arch Paper 2. Below given is the section wise analysis of Paper 2:

Part 1 – Mathematics

This section of the examination consisted of questions from subject Mathematics. There were total 25 questions which was further divided in two sections namely Section 1 and Section 2. Section 1 had 20 questions of Multiple Choice Type with single correct answer while Section 2 consisted of 5 questions based on Numerical type. These 25 questions in the section contributed to a total of 100 marks.

  • Marking Scheme - Students were rewarded with +4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark was deducted as penalty for each incorrect answer.
    • There was no deduction of marks for not attempted question.
  • Difficulty Level – The difficulty level of the questions asked in this section varied from easy to moderately difficult. Questions based on numerical type were lengthy to be solved in the given time duration as they involved complicated calculations.

Part 2 - Aptitude

This section of the examination consisted questions from Aptitude. There were total 50 questions which contributed to a total of 200 marks. The questions asked in this section were of multiple choice type i.e. each question had 4-5 options to choose the correct answer from.

  • Marking Scheme - Students were rewarded with +4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark was deducted as penalty for each incorrect answer.
    • There was no deduction of marks for not attempted question.
  • Difficulty Level – The questions asked in this section were of Easy level.

Part 3 – Drawing

The third and last part of the question paper was Drawing. The section consisted of only 2 questions which contribute to a total of 100 marks i.e. 50 marks each. Students who took the exam have reported that the difficulty level of the examination was easier when compared to that of JEE Main Paper 2 conducted in January 2020.

  • Difficulty Level - The questions asked in this section were of Easy level.
