The National Testing Agency has rescheduled the dates of JEE Main examination due to clash with the Lok Sabha Elections schedule released by the Election Commission of India on March 10, 2019 (Sunday). Earlier the JEE Main 2019 was scheduled to be conducted from April 7, 2019, to April 20, 2019. According to the notification released by the National Testing Agency, following are the new dates of JEE Main 2019 examination:
Paper 1 (B.E./ B.Tech.) will be held on April 8, 9, 10 and 12, 2019
Paper 2 (B.Arch./ B. Planning) will be held on April 7, 2019
General Election-2019 will be held on April 11, 18, 23 and 29, followed by May 6, 12 and 19, 2019.
JEE Main Admit Card will be released on March 20, 2019. The candidates who successfully registered for JEE Main April Session must visit the official website of JEE Main at jeemain.nic.in, to download the Admit Card.
JEE Main is the National-level Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission in various Under Graduate Engineering Programmes offered by the Government and Private institutes across the country. Till last year, the examination was conducted yearly by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The National Testing Agency conducts the examination twice a year and the candidates can appear for both the attempts. This year over 8.74 lakh candidates appeared for JEE Main January Session examination.
JEE Main comprises of two papers i.e. Paper 1 for B.E./ B.Tech. and Paper 2 for B.Arch./ B. Planning. The examination is conducted in the Computer Based Test format. The drawing test of Paper 2 will be offline. The applicants can select their preferred language among English, Hindi and Gujarati and each correct answer will carry four marks and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
