JEE Main Dates

The National Testing Agency will be conducting JEE Main examination twice a year. The examination will be conducted in eight slots in the month of January and later in the month April. Nearly 2 lakh candidates will be accommodated in each slot. According to the notification released by the NTA, JEE Main Exam Pattern, Syllabus, Application fee and medium of examination will remain unchanged.

Highlights:

JEE Main Registrations: As the examination will be conducted twice a year, NTA will be releasing Application forms in the month of September and February respectively. JEE Main Registrations for January attempt will be conducted between September 1 to September 30, 2018, and the same for April attempt will be conducted from February 8 to March 7, 2019.

JEE Main Exam: The examination will be held in two slots and individually for Paper 1 and Paper 2 in two shifts. The candidate can appear for either one exam or both the exams. If the candidate is appearing for both, then consideration will be given to the highest score attained by the candidate.

Test Centre Details

The JEE Main Examination would be held across 104 cities all over India and 9 International Cities.

There are about 2000 test centers. There were 113 exam centers that hosted the JEE Main Examination last year and the year before 136 exam centers.

These are a few things that candidates must keep in mind in the course of allocating exam centers. 

  1. Candidates would be allotted JEE Main Exam center as per their preference indicated of exam centers at the time of applying for JEE Main.
  2. An applicant would be required to report to the examination center on the indicated date and time mentioned on the admit card.
  3. Candidates would be required to choose 1 exam center for the JEE Main test process during JEE Main Application Procedure.
  4. JEE Main 2018 question papers would be available in Hindi and English in most of the exam centers.
