XAT Essay Writing is an important section which a candidate must know to attempt well in order to do well in the examination. College Essay Writing is a section which a candidate has to do well in addition to the section on General Knowledge. General Knowledge as a section is manageable wherein a candidate would have to answer 25 questions based on Current and Static affairs. The candidates would be having about 20-25 minutes to note down their views in a comprehensive manner to convince the examiner about their course of thought.
However, as easier as it may seem while reading, XAT Essay writing, in general, is not an easy section that can be done by candidates as it requires them to write a well-connected essay putting forward thoughts that represent a comprehensive viewpoint on whatever the topic that needs to be detailed. In addition to this, a candidate is also under enough pressure of adhering to the word limit.
The candidates would have to read and understand various issues comprehensively to write an essay that explores well enough on the length and breadth of the topic that they choose to write. The following are a few tips that are mentioned below for candidates to ensure a proper preparation:

English Newspapers and Editorials need to be read from time to time to be abreast of Latest Developments.

A lot of snippets and news should also be read from Current Affairs Magazines and Fiction novels.

Vocabulary and English Grammar needs to be strengthened effectively.

The candidate is required to practice error-free writing and writing speed to be able to collate thoughts in a limited time-frame.

XAT would be conducted in an online mode, therefore, essays must be practiced on a computer.
Earlier, generic essay topics for candidates would be given in the exam wherein the candidates could explore enough and discuss a lot of views without specific knowledge. But from this session onwards, topics like Demonetization, Goods and Services Tax, Nationalism and Cow Slaughter would be mentioned where it would become necessary for candidates to read in advance and know adequate about the issue to give a detailed essay which explores the premise, discusses his opinion on the same detail with a conclusion apt for the title given.
Following are a few tips that must be followed by the candidates to do well in XAT 2018 Essay Writing Section:

Give a good structure to your essay - Introduction, Body and Conclusion.

Shorter sentences would have to be written as longer sentences may digress the point that is required to be made.

The candidate is also required to write in paragraphs as opposed to abbreviations and improper language.

Quotes and relevant references are required to be quoted right to do well in the essay writing section.

The candidate is required to think through calmly while writing an essay.
