Xavier School of Management (XLRI) Jamshedpur will soon release the XAT 2024 cutoff for its PGDM-BM and PGDM-HRM programmes online. Meanwhile, candidates who took the XAT 2024 on January 7 can check the previous year's XAT cutoff on the official website, xlri.ac.in. The XAT cut-off is usually between 95 and 97 percentile. Female candidates have a 1-2 percentile lower cut-off for the XAT exam.

The XAT cutoff for XLRI admission is determined by several factors. The three main determining factors are the number of candidates taking the XAT that year, the difficulty level of the XAT question paper, and the number of available seats. The XAT is one of the nation's oldest competitive exams, but it has always used state-of-the-art testing techniques. The XAT offers a multi-pronged examination structure with built-in fairness to assess applicants who want to work as business leaders in the future.

Factors Determining XAT Cut off 2024

The XAT cut off 2024 differs between male and female candidates. According to XLRI, the XAT XLRI cutoff varies for candidates with an engineering background versus those with a non-engineering background. Before announcing the XAT 2024 cutoff, XLRI considers several factors. Following the release of the XAT results, a factor analysis is used to determine the final XAT 2024 cutoff. The following factors influence both the sectional and overall XAT cutoff.

  • Difficulty Level of the Exam: If the XAT 2024 questions are more difficult, the cutoff will likely be lower. The difficulty level is an important factor in determining the XAT 2024 cutoff.
  • Number of Applicants: The XAT Cutoff 2024 is determined by how many candidates appear for the exam. There is more competition and a higher cutoff when there are more applications, and vice versa when there are fewer applications. The XAT sectional cutoff is influenced by seating availability.
  • Number of Seats Available: The number of MBA and PGDM seats offered by each institute influences the XAT sectional cutoff score. Fewer seats increase demand, resulting in a higher cutoff, whereas more seats reduce demand and lower the cutoff.
  • Reservation Policy: This factor takes into account the number of seats reserved for various categories, such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PWD. It affects your score, percentile, and cutoff. A higher reservation policy results in more seats for reserved categories and a lower cutoff. In contrast, a lower reservation policy results in fewer reserved category seats and a higher cutoff.

The XAT cut-off criteria for candidates in the general category ranges from 95 to 97 percentile. For those looking for XLRI cutoff for OBC, the answer is that XLRI does not have any special seats for reservation categories. Candidates from the OBC category will be treated similarly to those from the general category. The XAT cutoff for SC/ST can be on the lower side. Candidates from the SC/ST category are expected to have an overall XAT cut-off of around 65.

The XLRI Jamshedpur admission committee selects candidates for admission to its PGDM programs based on their XAT scores, Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). For this reason, the institute establishes category-specific minimum cut offs for HRM and BM programmes. Candidates who meet the XAT cutoff for XLRI must submit an online application form through the institute's website. The institute then shortlists the applicants for GD/PI round.

This GD/PI round is held in February in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Jamshedpur. The GD/PI round has been conducted online since 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following this rigorous personality assessment round, candidates are shortlisted for admission offers. Selected candidates receive admission offers via email in May.
