While Game of Thrones is a worldwide admiration, there are certain important things that can be taken note of by candidates, particularly those applying for their MBA. The same is illustrated as follows:
Shades of Leadership
Of the many-many houses in the GOT series, two most prominent leaders were Ned Stark and Tywin Lannister, the first one who was persuasive and the last one was authoritative. While Tywin imposed his control over people, he never won any trust or loyalty from them.
Ned Stark unlike the one above was a man who lead by example and sensitive to the feelings of his people. Particularly, he was also succeeded by able people by Arya, Jon Snow and Robb while Tywin on basis of sheer imposition could not leave anything in terms of leadership.
The short span of Joffrey was brought upon by himself wherein he interfered in the actions of his team and never let them operate. He lacked the required combination of Power and Authority to execute his decisions and had a big ego. As per Tywin, Wise kings heed the advice of their councilors and in case of the wisest, they continue to listen to their advice even afterward.
Experiences of others
It is true and accepted across that life is too short and quick for having a lot of personal experiences, but people can learn from other people's experiences as well. Amidst a brewing war between the White Walkers and the Living, and so much of chaos (as recently popularized by Littlefinger), there is one Tyrion who is reading books and busy learning from other people's lives.
A typical example of a dragon being chained can be taken in this view where he claims to just “know” that keeping them in that state would result in them not doing well at all. A lot of reading is what makes him possess so much of knowledge.
Knowledge is the solution to many problems that can literally turn tables around. Not knowing cannot be an option at all.
Trusting is okay, but checking is always better
Catelyn Stark, one of the most beautiful and wisest ladies of the series, she was extremely correct in warning Robb Stark about the House of Freys. Her warning had shown a consequence at the Red Wedding. He could have guarded himself in course of his decision, which he did not and the trust he had shown was stabbed quite menacingly.
Unpredictability
Ramsay Bolton always had a surprise in store in with him with that mischievous glint in his eyes. He always saw a different perspective on every situation to tip off the balance. This is one skill that is needed in the MBA graduates to survive in the corporate world. For more information refer to
