IIT JAM 2019 schedule announced, registration starting from September 1

IIT JAM 2019 has been scheduled recently and dates are released by IIT Kharagpur on the official website www.jam.iitkgp.ac.in. The registration process for the same will start from September 1, 2018, through online mode and the entrance exam will be conducted on February 10 of next year.

Joint Admission Test for MSc (IIT-JAM) is an all India entrance test for candidates aspiring to peruse M.Sc. degree and other post-graduate courses offered at IITs across the nation like joint M.Sc-Ph.D and M.Sc-Ph.D dual degree. Also for the candidates seeking to do research and wants to take admission in an integrated Ph.D. course offered at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) scores is also accepted by many other institutes of national importance like Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) for admission in MSc courses.
The entrance exam is conducted once in every year since 2004 and is conducted by each IIT on a rotational basis. This year IIT-JAM will be conducted by IIT Kharagpur and is scheduled for February 10th, 2019, and it will be conducted in 2 sessions computer-based examination pattern. Registration for the same will start from September 1 and the registration window is open till October 10th, 2018. Scores obtained by the candidate will be announced on March 20, 2019.

IIT JAM 2019 Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidate must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized institute or university with at least 55% aggregate and 50% for candidates applying through reserved and PwD category.
- Candidate ‘s aggregate marks will be calculated without rounding off the marks and all the subjects will be taken into consideration like languages and subsidiaries combining all year's course.
- Candidates with CGPA grading system in graduation, equivalence percentage of marks obtained by the candidate will be decided by the Institute applied for.
- Candidates perusing graduation and is in the final year are also eligible for applying in IIT JAM 2019, however, it is mandatory to produce proof of passing the final graduation exam.
- Age Limit: No age limit has been set to appear for IIT JAM 2019 exam.
- Nationality: Candidates can be either from India or a different nationality to appear for the exam.
Registration for IIT JAM 2019:
- Step 1: Register online on JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) by filling the details like name, email id, mobile number and password.
- Step 2: login with system generated id and password, fill the application form with the required details and chose the preferred examination centre from the drop-down box, followed by uploading the required documents.
- Step 3: make payment of registration fee through online bode by debit or credit card and submit the application form to complete the registration.
