IIT JAM Admit Card 2026 Important Dates
IIT Bombay is conducting the IIT JAM 2026 exam on February 15, 2026. The exam level is national and conducted online as a computer-based test. The exam duration is 3 hours. IIT JAM 2026 results will be announced on March 20, 2026. Candidates will be able to download the JAM 2026 results by visiting the official website and logging in to their registered accounts.

How to Download IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card?
Candidates can follow the steps to download the IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card mentioned below:
- Visit the IIT Jam 2026 Official Website, jam2026.iitb.ac.in.
- Click on the “JOAPS Admit Card 2026 Link” on the homepage.
- Enter your enrollment/email ID and password.
- Solve the provided arithmetic expression.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button to proceed.
- Enter your virtual signature i.e. candidate's name.
- Click on the 'Download IIT JAM 2026 Admit Card' button.
- Once downloaded, take a print out of the admit card for future reference.
After downloading the admit card, the candidates must go through it and check if all the details mentioned on the hall ticket are correct. It is very crucial for them to have correct details on the document. In case of any discrepancy, they must immediately reach out to the examination conducting body and get these details rectified before the IIT JAM Exam Date 2026.

What after Downloading the IIT JAM Admit Card?
After downloading the IIT JAM Hall Ticket, the candidates will have to do the thing mentioned below:
- Candidates are advised to take multiple printouts of the admit card. It is advised to have at least 2 copies at hand.
- Candidates must carefully check and verify all the details mentioned on the document. There should not be any errors or discrepancies.
- Candidates must paste their passport sized photograph in the space given. DO NOT sign the admit card at home. It needs to be signed in in the presence of the invigilator.
- Candidates must get the copy of admit card signed by their parents or guardians. There is already a space designated for this.
- In case of any error found in the details mentioned on the admit card, they must immediately contact and convey this to the IIT Delhi helpline between 10:00 AM and 05:00 PM.
Documents To Carry on the Exam Day
Along with the IIT JAM admit card, the candidates need to carry a photo ID proof. Here is the list of photo ID proofs that must be carried on the day of the examination. Any one of the following documents can be carried for identification purpose:

- One sanitizer bottle
- A face mask
- Drinking water in a transparent bottle

Prohibited Items at the IIT JAM 2026 Exam Centre
To maintain exam integrity, fairness, and prevent cheating and distraction, certain items are prohibited inside exam centers.
- Electronic Devices - Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and any communication gadgets are strictly forbidden. If found, the candidates will be disqualified on the spot.
- Study Material - Books, notes, or any written materials must not be brought into the exam hall.
- Food and Drinks - Snacks or beverages other than water are not allowed inside.
- Jewelry - Candidates should avoid wearing jewelry such as rings, earrings, necklaces, or bracelets that may set off metal detectors.
- Bags and Purses - Candidates are advised to not carry bags or purses as they can complicate security checks.
IIT JAM 2026 Exam Day Instructions
The candidates must go through the important instructions mentioned on the admit card. Please refer to these instructions below:
- The candidates appearing in IIT JAM 2026 exam must carry their IIT JAM admit card along with a valid photo ID to the allotted exam centre. They must carry the original copy of their ID. Photos IDs that candidates can carry are college ID, employer ID, driving licence, passport, PAN card, voter ID card, or Aadhaar Card.
- The printout of the JAM admit card must be taken on an A4 size paper. In the already printed admit card, candidates must ensure that the signature and photograph are clearly visible.
- Do not bring any electronic devices like calculators, smart watches or mobile phones inside the premises. A virtual calculator will be provided to you for calculation.
- If possible, the candidates are advised to visit their exam centre at least a day before the exam date. This will help them avoid the hassle on the exam day.
- If any problem occurs in the system allotted to you, reach the examiner on time.
- Candidates must report to their allotted IIT JAM exam centre at least 90 minutes before the examination starts.
- Candidates can take the IIT JAM 2026 exam only after their credentials have been properly verified by the officials.
- After they enter, they will be allowed 40 minutes of time before the examination starts. At least 20 minutes before the exam start time, the candidates will be asked to log in to their respective systems and read the exam instructions.
- Candidates will not be allowed to log in 30 minutes after the examination has started.
- Candidates will not be allowed to exit the examination hall before the exam ends.
- Candidates will be able to find a ‘Virtual Scientific Calculator’ on their computer screen.
- They will be provided with rough sheets for rough work. They must write their names and registration number on the rough sheet.
- Once the exam ends, the candidates will have to submit their rough sheets to the invigilators.
