Some Last Minutes Tips for CAT 2020 Exam

CAT 2020

The registration procedure of CAT 2020 ended in September 2020 and there have been more than 2 lakh students who have registered themselves for CAT 2020 Exam. With only around 1 week left for CAT Exam, it is advisable for students to revise thoroughly what they have been studying for months. Getting themselves familiarized to the examination pattern and syllabus of the exam is one important task to be performed by the students appearing in CAT 2020 Exam.

  • Students must not take up something new that they have never been through but revise the previously studied topics before the exam is commenced on 29th November 2020.

Below mentioned are some last-minute tips to conclude your CAT 2020 Exam Preparation:

Don’t Go for Any New Topic

During the last days of CAT Exam Preparation, CAT Aspirants mustn’t touch any topic which has never been studied before. Learning an entirely new topic during these last days is not only crucial but also creates confusion and diverts your mind from the ones that are already prepared. It also reduces the quality of understanding and your ability to memorize new topics as the stress takes over.

Don't Make New Notes but Prepare from Previously Prepared Notes

It is not possible to create new notes every time you start studying a topic and even if it is, it reduces your efficiency and wastes your crucial time. It is advisable to prepare from the previously prepared notes and do not go through or revise from books that they used during the early days of preparation. Having already studied, these notes would boost your confidence and help you figure out the answers in examination just by looking at the questions.

Allot Time to Each Topic

Since there are only a few days left for CAT Exam to be conducted, one important tip is to allot time to each topic CAT Aspirants have gone through. Scheduling your preparation hours will increase the efficiency and ability to solve questions in the exam.

Solve Previous Year Question Papers

This, in my opinion, is the best tip to be offered to students appearing in any entrance examination. Having a look at the previous year question papers and solving them has its own importance as it helps students understand how the question paper is designed and the type of questions asked in the examination. CAT Aspirants must solve the previous year question papers in order to understand CAT Exam Pattern.

Take Mock Tests in Your Free Time

I know there is no free time when there are only 8 days left for the examination but taking mock tests will freshen up your mind if you seem to enjoy solving these mock tests. Take online mock tests as it helps you improve your ability to take online tests and understand the features of online exams. It is crucial to get hold of the online examination procedure.

Read Questions Carefully

The best way to answer a question correctly is to have read that question carefully. Students must go through the important instructions carefully so that they know the demand of that question and what exactly needs to be done. Solving for something which has not even been asked in that question is the worst feeling one can have in an examination hall. Do not waste your time on something you feel you can’t solve and read the questions carefully.

Don’t Stress Yourself

It is natural to be taken over by stress when the examination date is near, but this should not stop you from achieving that you have been dreaming for years. Try to keep your cool and stay calm even when you enter the examination hall. We are well aware that qualifying CAT Exam solely requires grades but the exam analyses how efficiently and calmly students handle the exam stress.

So, don’t think too much and keep doing what you have been doing for months. Failing an examination is not the end. There are always better and prominent options lying ahead.
