NATA vs JEE Main: Know everything

Both JEE Main Paper 2 and NATA are conducted to determine admissions into 5-year Architecture Courses in various colleges of India. While both the examinations are maximum applied, let us examine a few differences between both the examinations.

JEE Main Paper 2

  • Admissions to NITs and CFTIs
  • Exam is for a total of 390 marks
  • Conducted by CBSE

NATA

  • For Admissions to all Bachelor of Architecture Colleges except NITs
  • 200 Marks examination
  • Conducted by National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture

The breakup of NATA Examination is as follows:

Maths and Aptitude - 60 Questions (20 Maths+ 40 Aptitude) - no negative marking - 120 marks | Difficulty score 5/10 (Maths) 7.5/10 (Aptitude)

Drawing - 2 Question - 40 marks each - 80 marks | Difficulty Score -8.5/10

Total -200 marks | Total time: 90 minutes for each section 

Important Information 

  • At least 25% must be secured in the MCQ (30/120)
  • At least 25% must be secured in the Drawing Portion (30/120)
  • Overall Qualifying marks ( out of 200) would be based on post examination statistics and at the discretion of the council. 

The candidate would need 120+ marks in NATA to get into a good college.
