After the release of GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) 2018 results on March 16, the IIT Guwahati will be releasing score card tomorrow i.e. March 20. Candidates who appeared for the GATE 2018 can check their scores on the official website. IIT Guwahati conducted this exam on February 3, 4, 10 and 11 2018 at 119 cities across India and 6 cities abroad. GATE is a national level Post Graduate entrance examination for all the candidates who wish to seek admissions in Post Graduate and Doctoral Programmes at IITs, NITs, GFTIs and other Universities of India. Candidates are required to first register with the respective department of institutes for admission. These institutes will conduct centralized counseling for all the Post Graduate Programmes. This online procedure is accepted by all the NITs and other centrally funded institutes like IIITM Gwalior, PDPM IIITDM Jabalpur, IIITDM Kancheepuram, SLIET Longowal, NIFFT Ranchi, SPA Vijayawada, IIIT Allahabad, Central University of Rajasthan, Institute of Technology Shibpur. The counseling for this session will begin from April 2018.

GATE 2018 question paper comprised of Questions on Technical stream-wise concepts, Engineering Mathematics and General Aptitude and the total time limit was 180 minutes. It consisted of 23 papers which covered all the major subjects in engineering. The question paper comprised of two types of questions- Multiple Choice Questions and Numerical Questions. Each question carried 1 or 2 marks for correct answer whereas 1/3 mark was deducted for the wrong answer in the 1-mark question and 2/3 mark was deducted for the wrong answer in 2-marks question. There was no negative marking for the Numerical Questions.
The answer keys for same were released on March 14 and Score Card will be available from tomorrow until May 31. This Score will be valid for next three years. Apart from IITs, IISc, and PSUs, this Score will also be accepted by Foreign Universities like the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technical University, Singapore. Few universities in Germany like RWTH Aachen and TU Munich also accepts GATE score for Indian Candidates.
This year the First Rank was obtained by Jyotiranjan Barik with an overall score of 959. He is a fourth-year student of Agriculture Engineering in Agriculture from Orrisa University of Agriculture and Technology.
