CAT Result: 11 candidates score 100 percentile, Know the CAT Toppers

This year, there are 11 CAT toppers who have scored an overall 100 percentile in the CAT 2018 examination that was conducted on November 25, 2018, by IIM Calcutta. According to the details revealed by the examination conducting authority, all the 11 CAT toppers are male and from engineering and technology backgrounds.

According to the graduation records, out of 11 CAT toppers, 7 candidates are from IITs and 2 students are from Jadavpur University. Based on the permanent address provided by the candidates, 7 toppers are from Maharashtra, 2 from West Bengal and one each from Karnataka and Bihar.

Though there was a significant increase in the female applicants this year, none have made it to the 100 percentile list. Whereas, last year there were 2 female toppers in the list.

Know the CAT Toppers 2018:

Raunak Majumdar, the man with the perfect score said, “I appeared for CAT 2017 to simply test waters and had scored 99.89 percentile. This time I worked really hard and managed studies along with my work schedule and I am very happy with the score.”

Jagesh Golwala, a final year student of IIT Bombay (electrical engineering) have scored a cent percentile. He said, “Even though I am graduating in electrical engineering, over the past few years my interest in finance and economics kept growing. Therefore, I decided to try my luck with MBA and now I am hoping for the best.”

Niranjan Prasad, the Udupi CAT topper is also among the top 11 candidates who secured a perfect score. He said, “I never expected that I would score hundred percentile. However, now I have a lot of decisions to make before I take my next step as I have received some job offers too.”

The Indian Institutes of Management will soon be releasing their shortlist for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview Round. Over 100 other non-IIMs also accept CAT score for admission in their Post Graduate Management Programmes.
