As we all know that most of the top management schools in India accept Common Admission Test Scores for admission. But CAT is not the only option if you aspire to obtain admission in one of the top management college in India. There are nearly 50 such Management exams that can surely provide you admission in one of the best B-Schools of India. Some of these exams are conducted at state-level and some at national-level.

Top Management Entrance Exams in ndia:
CAT (Common Admission Test)
CAT examination is considered to be most popular management entrance exam of India. The Indian Institutes of Management every year conduct CAT exam at national-level. CAT Score is accepted by 20 IIMs and numerous management institutes of India. Every year Lakhs of candidates appear for this entrance exam.
The CAT examination was started in the year 1950 and till 2009 the examination was conducted in paper pen mode. Currently, the examination is conducted in online mode and the candidate needs to answer 100 questions in 180 minutes. The CAT registrations for the academic year 2018 will commence from the month of August followed by the examination in the month of November or December.
The CAT exam pattern tends to change every year. The question paper will comprise of three sections i.e. Verbal & Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Ability.
CAT Selection Procedure: The Indian Institutes of Management releases the list of shortlisted candidates on the basis of CAT Cut Off which is declared after the release of CAT Result. The shortlisted candidates receive the interview call from each IIM.
CMAT (Common Management Admission Test)
The second most famous entrance examination in India is CMAT. The examination is conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). CMAT is a national-level management exam which is conducted in online mode. The examination commenced for the first time from the academic year 2014 in the month of February.
The time duration of CMAT is three hours and the CMAT Question Paper comprises of four sections i.e. Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness. Each section will be carrying 25 questions. The CMAT Score is accepted by more than 500 Business Schools of India. Nearly 1.5 Lakh candidates appear for CMAT examination every year.
CMAT Selection Procedure: The Institutes accepting CMAT Score will be releasing their individual Cut Offs and the selected candidates will be invited for Group Discussion or Essay Writing and Personal Interview rounds. The selection procedure of each institute accepting CMAT Score tends to be different as it is conducted individually by the institutes.
XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)
XAT is a national-level management entrance examination which is conducted by Xavier Labour Relations Institute, Jamshedpur. The XAT Score is accepted by more than 150 Management schools of India. The examination is conducted in online mode and the time duration of exam is 170 minutes. The online registration of XAT examination starts in the month of August and the examination is conducted on the first Sunday of January.
Every year nearly one lakh candidates appear for this exam who wish to obtain admission inXLRI and other institutes accepting XAT Score. XAT Question Paper comprises of four sections i.e. Quantitative Ability, English Language & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making and GK & Essay.
XAT Selection procedure: The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the XAT Score which is released by XLRI and other institutes accepting XAT Score. The selected candidates will be appearing for Group Discussion/ Essay Writing and Personal Interview rounds.
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude)
The SNAP examination is conducted by Symbiosis International University at the national level. The SNAP examination is primarily conducted for admission in 15 Institutes affiliated to Symbiosis International University. The SNAP online registrations continue till the month of November and the examination is conducted in December.
The examination is conducted in online mode from last year. Earlier the SNAP test was conducted in Paper Pen Mode. The time duration of exam is 120 minutes. The SNAP Management question paper comprises of 150 Multiple Choice Questions which are divided into four sections i.e. General English, Quantitative-Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, General Awareness (GK, Current Affairs and Business Scenario) and Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
SNAP Selection Procedure: The candidates are selected by the institutes accepting SNAP Score on the basis of their performance in SNAP exam. The selected candidates will be called for Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview Rounds. The final merit list is released by Symbiosis International University.
NMAT (NMIMS Management Aptitude Test)
NMAT is also one among the most important management entrance exams of India. The exam is currently rebranded by GMAC as NMAT by GMAC. The NMAT Scores are accepted for admission to Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, VIT University, ICFAI Business School and Ansal University.
The examination is conducted in online mode and the candidates are required to answer 120 Multiple Choice Questions in 120 minutes. The candidates can appear for NMAT examination for a maximum of three times and the highest scores attained by the candidate will be used by the candidate. The NMAT Question Paper comprises of three sections i.e. Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.
NMAT Selection Procedure: The candidates will be selected on the basis of NMAT Scores. The selection procedure of NMAT starts in the last week of January after the declaration of results. The selected candidates are required to appear for selection rounds conducted by the institutes accepting NMAT Score.
MAT (Management Aptitude Test)
The MAT Score is accepted by more than 600 management institutes of India. The MAT examination is conducted by All India Management Association known as AIMA. The examination is conducted in every quarter i.e. in the month of February, May, September and December. The MAT Question paper comprises of 200 questions which should be answered in 150 minutes. The question paper comprises of five sections i.e. Indian & Global Environment, Language Comprehension, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills and Intelligence & Critical Reasoning. The examination is conducted in both the modes (Computer Based Test Mode and Paper Pen Mode).
MAT Selection procedure: The selection procedure commences after the declaration of results. The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the MAT score. The selected candidates will be called by the institutes where they have applied and will be finally selected after passing the Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Written Ability rounds.
