What is TANCET ?

TANCET is an entrance exam conducted by Anna University for the admissions into Post Graduate Programmes offered in the University and the Affiliated Colleges across the state.

TANCET 2018 Exam Pattern

Duration: 2 Hours The question paper will have three parts: Part-I and Part-II are compulsory Part-III offers the candidates to choose any one section out of 14 based on his/her specialisation. The questions will be set at the undergraduate level

TANCET 2018 Eligibility

A pass in a recognised Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.

TANCET 2018 Application Procedure

The Application Form for TANCET 2018 will be available from April 1 to 20, 2018.

The TANCET 2018 offline Application Forms will be available at the designated Co-ordinating Centres mentioned below on this page.

  • 1. InPerson:: Candidates must go to the Co-ordinating Centres in person and submit the copies of the following documents:
  • Class X or equivalent mark sheet
  • Class XII mark sheet or 3 years Diploma certificate
  • Permanent community certificate (card format) in case of SC/ST
  • Passport size photographs
  • Candidates must pay the TANCET 2018 Application fee in Cash OR through DD in favour of The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University,' payable at Chennai

Note: Candidates will be issued the TANCET 2018 Hall Tickets immediately after the submission of the TANCET Application Form 2018.

Log on to the official website at www.annauniv.edu Find out Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) Exam Admit Card/Hall Ticket for the exam in March 2018. 

Click on the Admit Card link to proceed to the downloading portal. 

Enter your Application Registration Number and Date of Birth as asked. 

Submit the correct details to see your Admit Card. 

Your TANCET Admit Card/Hall Ticket 2018 will be shown on your screen. 

Save and Download the Admit Card as PDF file.

TANCET 2018 Preparation Tips

Time Management: Maintaining a proper schedule for every task that you do can lead you to success. Prepare along with all daily tasks such as exercise, play and every other tasks by managing the time.

Diet & food: Maintain a completely healthy diet including fresh fruits and vegetables. Try to ignore oily stuff and have a proper balanced diet.

Positivity: Always try to be positive towards every work that you do and be focused towards all your activities along with studies. Being optimistic works very well many a times in such situations.

Mock Tests: Prepare the best way by appearing as many mock tests you can, and analyze the results regularly. Try solving the portion which you find difficult in the mock tests and create a strong base.

Smart way to Prepare: Make separate sheets for formulas and theorem that can help you a lot while solving numerical in Physics and Mathematics.

Believe in yourself: Self-belief is most important as it generates a lot of positivity and gives boost to your confidence.

TANCET 2018 Counseling Details

Counselling will be held at Anna University, Chennai-25 generally in August.

Candidates should attend the counselling with all the original certificates. 

TANCET Counselling Fee:  Rs 5,300 (Rs 1,150/- for SC / SCA / ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu)

Payment Mode:  DD or Cash, inclusive of a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs 300 (Rs 150/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu.

Note: The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of “The Secretary, TANCA, Anna University” payable at Chennai.
