What is AILET ?

The AILET (All India Law Entrance Test) is conducted by  NLU (National Law University), Delhi to select students for the under graduate level law programme - B.A., LL.B (Honors), which is a five-year integrated programme.

Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also meet the age requirement criteria for the admission process. The age of the candidate must not be more than 21 years. Read more

The application fees of AILET 2017 is expected to be same as that of the last year.

AILET 2020 Preparation Tips

AILET 2017 is scheduled to be held on 1 May, 2017. Here are some of the preparation tips that aspirants must keep in mind while preparing:

  • Aspirants must prepare the core topics thoroughly. The Legal Aptitude, English, and Logical reasoning sections are the important sections that one must prepare well.
  • Legal Aptitude section will consist of questions based on legal propositions and set of facts satisfying the propositions. One must be aware, about the basic legal terms and codes.  
  • General Knowledge is one of the most scoring sections; aspirants must keep themselves updated regarding the current affairs both national and international.
  • Mathematics and Numerical Ability section comprises of 10th and 12th level questions, covering topics such as profit and loss, Distance- speed and time, algebra, permutation and combination etc. This section will consist of only 10 questions.
  • Mock tests are very important for revising the concepts. One must start taking sectional mocks followed by overall test mocks. One must also refer to AILET previous year papers.
  • There are a total of 150 questions and total time allotted is 90 minutes. Aspirants must manage the time and enhance their question-solving speed by planning and practicing. Attempting the questions one is confident about first and trying their hands on the lengthy and tricky questions at last, may help.

AILET 2020 Exam Pattern

AILET 2017 is an objective type, pen- paper based test. The total time duration of the test is 1 hour 30 minutes and the total number of questions is 150.The following sections are covered in the exam:

AILET 2020 Selection Procedure

Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the AILET merit list. After the declaration of the merit list, candidates are shortlisted for an offline counselling process. Read more

Documents to be Carried

The qualifying candidates who shall have their names in AILET 2017 Merit list as per the Results of AILET 2017 shall be called in for spot counselling tentatively in the fourth week of June 2017. The list of the candidates who will be called in for spot counselling shall be uploaded by NLU, Delhi tentatively by second week of June 2017. You can view the list of such candidates on this page.


Candidates called in for AILET 2017 Spot Counselling need to be present at the AILET 2017 counselling venue. The meritorious candidates would require to verify the necessary documents including academic certificates, proof of residence, birth certificate, etc.
