The SSC CGL Examination has questions that are MCQ based and would be conducted in the online mode. The question paper on an overall basis would be divided into 4 sections: GK, Quant aptitude, Language and General intelligence.

The Tier 1 exam would have a total of 100 questions for 200 marks and the exam duration would be for about 75 minutes.

A penalty of 0.5 would be awarded for any negative answer.

The age relaxation is as follows:

OBC- 3 years

ST/SC- 5 years

Gen +PH - 10 years

OBC+ PH -13 years

ES (General) - 3 years

ES (OBC) - 6 years

ES (SC/ST) - 8 years

The SSC CGL exam date is slated to be in the month of August. The application beginning date would be 16 May 2017 and the last date would be 16th June 2017. The admit card is usuallyy available in the month of July.
