NEET 2018 Notification likely to be out soon

The Central Board of Secondary Education is most likely to release NEET Notification 2018 for undergraduate courses at the official website. NEET Registration in the previous year started on the same date and would be ending on March 1, 2018. The National Eligibility Entrance Test is expected to be held on the initial Sunday of May, the date being May 6, 2018. 

NEET 2018

NEET is a mandatory common entrance examination held for admission in all the medical colleges except AIIMS and JIPMER. A lot of students have been anxious about the rumors concerning syllabus change. In the previous week, CBSE has issued a clarification that there would be no changes in the NEET Exam syllabus and in terms of the NEET Exam pattern. The Board has also informed the Supreme Court, that there would be one set of question paper which would be translated into different languages. 

The examination would be conducted in English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. NEET has also been made compulsory for AYUSH courses as per various reports. Students being of NIOS origin are also eligible to apply for NEET. 

Since the previous year, CBSE has made Aadhaar Card mandatory for registration purposes. The same is not applicable in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Meghalaya, however. For NRIs, passport number is required

It has always been compulsory to appear and qualify in NEET to be determined for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. All the medical colleges that are recognized by MCI/DCI, except exams like AIIMS and JIPMER offer admissions on the basis of NEET Scores. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test would be conducted by CBSE on 6th May 2018.

The NEET Application Fee is priced at INR 1400 for candidates belonging to General/OBC Category. The candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category would be INR 750.

The steps to apply for NEET are as follows:

  1. Visit the CBSE Official website.
  2. The details asked for registration must be given and submitted by the candidate.
  3. The candidate would get an OTP on his number.
  4. A registration number would be generated for the candidate. The candidate must note the registration form and proceed to log in.
  5. The scanned images of photograph and signature should be uploaded by the candidate.

  • Name of the candidate
  • Name of the Mother
  • Name of the Father
  • Category
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • State of Eligibility
  • Aadhaar Number
  • Mobile Number of the candidate
  • Email ID
  • NEET Attempts
  • Disability
  • Question Paper Medium
  • Exam center choices
  • Address
  • Grade 10 and 12 passing details
  • Details of marks scored in the qualifications mentioned.

A few changes have been introduced in the NEET 2018 this year which are as follows:

  • Last year, the age limit for 25 years for candidates belonging to the General category and 30 years for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC Categories.
  • The stance that NEET can be attempted up to 3 times only, was introduced in the previous year. The initial attempt would be counted from NEET 2017.
  • There has been no definite change in the NEET Syllabus. There was a speculation initially about the changes but waived off eventually by the CBSE.
  • There would be no changes in the question papers across various categories. Question Papers of all languages would be of the same difficulty level.
