Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, widely referred to as PGIMS Rohtak, was established in the academic year of 1960. The institute was established under the name of Medical College, Rohtak that was later renamed as PGIMS Rohtak. The institute is given ‘Autonomous' status and has been approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI). PGIMS Rohtak functions under the aegis of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences as it is the parent institution.
