Admission to MBBS/BDS course is based only on the merit list prepared by NTA after the exam.

  • To appear in the merit list, the candidate must have had scored at least a 50 percentile. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories, this limit has been relaxed to 40 percentile.
  • If for some reason the number of candidates scoring a 50 percentile is less, the Central government in consultation with the MCI and CBSE may lower the minimum percentile required to qualify the exam.
  • The candidate should have also scored an aggregate of 50% in the 10+2 qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology. This aggregate has been reduced for candidates of SC/ST/OBC who need an aggregate of 40% to qualify for this exam.
  • If a two or more candidates get equal marks, The AIR for a NEET student gets affected.

In such cases, evaluation of NEET Score would be based on the following criteria:

  1. Students who have secured higher marks in Biology
  2. Students who have secured higher marks in Chemistry
  3. Students who have answered less wrong answers in all subjects
  4. Student older in age will be preferred
