JEE Main and NEET are exams that are a matter of concern for the conducting authorities. Once the Supreme Court made NEET as the sole entrance examination that would determine admissions of the candidates into MBBS courses, authorities of the academic and medical fraternity have raised questions on the capability of the students from the State Board/ any other Board apart from the CBSE to be able to attempt the NEET examination.
In the light of the same, Maharashtra State Government has taken a decision on creation of an online portal for practice questions for the JEE Main and NEET Examinations. The State Board has invited inputs in the form of multiple choice questions from experts and teachers for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The purpose of this is to provide state students with equal opportunities to crack national level examinations.

There is a variation in a curriculum of the aspirants of both JEE Main and NEET. This was raised as a major concern in the implementation of NEET Exam. The Tamilnadu State has particularly asked assistance in terms of the right preparatory material for students from a rural background with limited resources and opportunities.
The State of Odisha also has students complaining about similar discrepancies. The candidates have also requested for a revert to OJEE. Odisha is one of the fewer states who has shifted to JEE Main Examination for getting admission to State Engineering Colleges. With the individual states and students having discrepancies, the State Board of Maharashtra has found a different way to help students. An online question bank would be prepared which would provide access to students for questions on various topics for practice purposes. Teachers and experts from the JEE Main and NEET Domain have been asked to prepare a list of questions and post it online on the required website until December 31, 2017. The step, if made successful would help students appear in two competitive exams across the country.JEE Main Exam is scheduled to be held on April 8, 2018.
Further to this, to improve the ability of the students to give NEET Examination, the Tamil Nadu Government has revised syllabus for Grades 1 to 12 and has released the new draft syllabus on Monday. The new syllabus is set to replace the 12-year-old higher secondary syllabus and seven-year-old common syllabus for Grades 1 to 10. It has included many aspects which are expected to improve the performance of the students.
As per the Government authorities, after collating aspects of more than 15 Boards inclusive of CBSE, the new syllabus has been come up with in order to do well on exams. The content of the newly framed syllabus would be more advanced in comparison to the current syllabus. The technology required for the Science subjects have also been introduced for the candidates along with six skill development courses similar to Textile Manufacturing. The new syllabus seems to have been prepared within a record time of 4 months.
A lot of new topics as follows have been included in the syllabus such as:
-
Robotic Science
-
Nanoscience
-
Environmental Chemistry
-
Green Chemistry
