SSC CGL Tier 1 Result releasing tomorrow

By: R Chandrakala on Apr 22, 2023

While the last week of October is the timeline associated with the declaration of SSC CGL Tier 1 results, candidates are anxiously spending the week to know the status of their performance in the examination. The date set for the SSC CGL Result declaration is October 31, 2017.

While this is the hinted date as per a report by the commission, the result could be declared in advance. SSC CGL Tier 1 examination would be conducted from August 5 to 24 for 30.2 Lakh candidates registering for the test. Out of the registered number, about 15.4 Lakh candidates had written the exam. The exam was conducted in 43 batches all over the country.

The SSC CGL Answer Key was released on September 8, 2017. The opinion of the candidates was also invited on the same. SSC CGL Results would be released on the official website, which would be required to be visited by the candidates.

SSC CGL Tier 1 results can be checked in the following way:

  1. Visit the official website
  2. Click on the latest notification relating to results.
  3. Enter your roll number and required details asked on the screen.
  4. Results can be viewed.
  5. A printout of the same can be kept for future reference.

The selected candidates would be giving the Tier 2 examination if they clear the Tier 1 examination with the required cutoff. SSC would be taking note of the marks gained in Tier 1, 2 and 3 in order to determine the final score. Candidates would be required to clear all the Tiers on a separate basis.

A campaign was also started by students for the normalization of SSC CGL scores with an account of their grievances. On comparison of answer keys of the examination held before and those held after October 16, 2017, there has been a significant difference in the difficulty level of the question paper which might lead to some candidates getting a low percentile in the exam on the days the question paper was of a tougher level. However, many apart from the candidates who gave the exam believe that SSC CGL Normalization, if implemented, can guarantee uniformity in the evaluation of students appearing nationwide across various exam centers and examination slots from August 5 to 24, 2017.

The SSC CGL Exam is usually conducted to fill in various vacancies across Ministries, Departments and Government Organizations. The final result of the SSC CGL would be based on the cumulative scores that are secured by the candidates across all Tiers. The candidates would have to do their maximum best across all sections to get selected in the SSC CGL Examination.
