SSC CGL Tier 1 Marks released

The Staff Selection Commission had declared the marks of the candidates appearing in the SSC CGL Examination Tier-1 after the SSC CGL Result was declared.The exam was held from August 5 to August 24, 2017, at various centers across the country. Three lists had been issued with the names and roll numbers of candidates clearing the Tier 1 examination and who are eligible to appear in the Tier 2 examination and the subsequent Tier 3 examination. The Tier 1 exam was attempted by 15.4 Lakh candidates.

A note was also issued by the Commission containing the category-wise details of the candidates qualifying for the Tier 2 and Tier 3 Cutoff applicable for every category. As per the write-up, number of candidates provisionally qualifying Tier 2 and Tier 3 are:

Tier 2 (Paper 1 and 2) and Tier 3:  150,404 (Total number of candidates)

Tier 2 (Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3) Tier 3: 10,311 (JSO Post)

Tier 2 (Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 4) Tier 3: 15,450 (AAO Post)

The Tier 2 and 3 of SSC CGL Examination would be held from December 21 to December 24, 2017, on a tentative basis. The SSC CGL Admit Cards would be uploaded on the regional websites of the Commission at least 10 days before the examination begins.

The marks of both qualified and non-qualified candidates of Tier 1 would be uploaded on the website for the reference of the candidates. About 30.2 Lakh candidates had registered for the SSC CGL Exam out of which 14 Lakh candidates had appeared. SSC CGL Tier 1 exam had begun from August 5 for 43 batches. The candidates who are successful would be giving the Tier 2 exam and SSC would be taking stock of the marks scored by the candidate in Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 examinations in order to calculate the final score. Candidates would be required to pass all the tiers on a separate basis. 

The Commission would be issuing the SSC CGL Tier 2 Admit Cards 10 days before the examination. The candidates who have not passed the test would also be able to give the examination. The Central Government has made an announcement of hiring 2.2 Lakh candidates out which about 70,000 would be created in the Income Tax Department and about 14 Lakh candidates would be appearing for the SSC CGL Examination every year. 

The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level Examination for recruitment of Category B and Category C posts across various Government Ministries, Offices and Departments. The exam would be held in 4 tiers wherein first two would be held online and the last two would be held offline. Candidates are required to qualify every stage of SSC CGL Examination to proceed to the next one before getting selected.

The characteristics of SSC CGL Exam Pattern is as follows:

  1. Tier 1 and Tier 2 Exam would be held in an online mode.
  2. Introduction of a descriptive paper of 100 marks in a span of 60 minutes in a pen and paper mode would be introduced.
  3. Tier 2 will stay the same.
  4. There would be no sectional cutoff.
