NIRF Ranking: AIIMS Delhi is the Top Medical College in India

According to the Government of India's Ranking of educational institutions, All India Institute of Medical Science known as AIIMS, New Delhi has ranked to be the top medical college across the country. The India Rankings of National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) is released by the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister, Prakash Javadekar in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The ranking comprised of nine categories i.e. overall, universities, engineering, colleges, management, pharmacy, medical, architecture and law. The ranks are awarded by the ministry on the basis of teaching, learning and resources, research and professional practices, graduation outcomes, outreach and inclusivity, and perception. AIIMS participated for the first time for an inclusion in the list and is awarded as the best medical college in the countrywide.
Every year AIIMS conducts a national level entrance examination for the admissions in MBBS programmes offered by AIIMS New Delhi, Jodhpur, Bhopal, Rishikehsh, Bhubneshwar, Guntur, Magpur, Patna and Raipur. The examination offers 807 MBBS seats. AIIMS 2018 entrance examination is scheduled to be to be conducted on May 27 & 28, 2018. The online applications are already closed for this examination and the admit cards will be released on May 10, 2018.
Apart from AIIMS Miranda House of Delhi University is awarded as the best college across the country. In the University category, the top position is attained by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), followed by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on the second position and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on third. Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) has been ranked as the best engineering college whereas Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has been ranked as the best Management Institution of India.
The routine of announcing yearly rankings (NIRF) was introduced in 2016 by the Human Resource Development Ministry.
