How Coronavirus Affected GMAT Testing? Read to Know More!

The Graduate Management Admission Council which plays to be the conducting body of GMAT Examination takes commendable step by delaying the examination in order to prevent the spread of the lethal Coronavirus amongst students. Since the World Health Organization (WHO) declares Coronavirus a Pandemic, the conducting body has decided to keep students from coming in contact with one another by suspending the GMAT Testing in many centers.

GMAC has decided to give Interim GMAT Exam in order to control the spread of pandemic coronavirus.

This interim GMAT exam will be as same as that of the original one in terms of exam structure and scoring pattern of the examination except Analytical Writing. The question paper of Interim GMAT Exam will comprise of Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Reasoning, and Integrated Reasoning.

Geoffrey Basye who is the spokesperson of the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has confirmed that this interim GMAT Exam will be made available through online mode during the 2nd or 3rd week of April 2020.

The step taken by GMAC is much appreciated as without wasting much time, it took the decision of suspending the conduct of examination. Amidst the global outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus, the government has issued a notice stating postponement of various examinations such as CBSE Board, JEE Main 2020, GTU Exams, and many more entrance examinations which were scheduled to be conducted in the recent times. The spread of Coronavirus, which is also commonly known as COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease) is on its peak and the number of people getting infected by Coronavirus is increasing rapidly.

Alternative Solutions in Making:

  • Many of the GMAT Test Centers have been closed, but the open ones have been enhanced with health and safety measure by enhancing cleaning procedure.
  • GMAC has come up with a new alternative to conduct the GMAT Examination.
  • The test set to be conducted by GMAC will offer a comparable pattern along with time and scoring as same as that of the exams delivered in the test centers.
  • The various sections asked in the paper such as Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude will be having the same number of questions and time to complete the examination.
  • Candidates must note that amidst the outbreak of COVID-19, most of the examinations are being either canceled or rescheduled. In any case if the examination is canceled, students will be provided with full refund of the test fees.
  • GMAC will keep aspirants updated via their email id registered during the time of registration.
