CBSE Board Exams – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to bring about some major changes in the assessment and marking process for students appearing in class 10th and class 12th board exams. Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases (coronavirus cases) the CBSE canceled CBSE class 10th board exams earlier this month and postponed class 12th board exams. After this declaration by CBSE Board, the other state boards, such as ICSE, have also canceled board exams due to COVID-19 situation spread worldwide. After the cancelation of class 10th board exams, CBSE has declared that the result of class 10th board exams will be evaluated based on an objective criterion. The CBSE has decided to prepare the result of students on as same basis as the previous year’s.
As per the notifications released by the CBSE, the new composition of last exams of class 9th and class 10th students, there will be competency-based questions for which a total of 30% marks will be allocated. These questions are generally Multiple-Choice Type questions (MCQs), based on cases, based on sources, or integrated questions of any types. Besides, 20% of the remaining marks are allocated for Objective-type questions and the remaining 50% of marks are allocated for short or long answer type questions as per the existing examination pattern.
For students appearing in class 11th and class 12th, 20% of the total marks will be allocated to competency based questions, 20% of the remaining marks will be allocated to the objective type questions, and the remaining 60% marks will be allocated to the short or long answer questions as per the existing examination pattern.
Students who will show up for the CBSE class 12 board exams can download the example sample papers online at cbseacademic.nic.in and can begin their preparation planning likewise. Below mentioned is the step wise procedure to download class 12th board exam sample papers.
