Section-wise analysis of JIPMER MBBS is as below:

  1. Biology: This section had mixed reviews from students as some of them felt that a few questions were out the NCERT syllabus. Due to the lack of negative marking, according to the opinion of the students, 50+ was easily capable of being scored.
  2. Logical: Logical section also seemed easy in comparison to that of Biology. About 9-10 could be easily scored.
  3. Language: This section was relatively easy. A fair knowledge in English was considered enough to do well.
  4. Chemistry: Chemistry was moderately difficult and completely based on NCERT. An average student could have easily scored beyond 45. Apart from the problems on adsorption, most of the section has been deemed to be easy. A scope for scoring 55 and above has also existed.
  5. Physics: It was quite a nightmare to students because about 8-10 questions were from the Maths section. And they were not well-versed with Maths. But students coming from a Math background would definitely have made it big.

A shift-wise analysis is given below:

  • Shift 1: Math. The physics portion had about 6-7 questions from Maths. The students who appeared for Boards could have been able to solve those questions. Biology is said to be loosely based on NCERT and have a few questions that are completely outside the syllabus.
  • Shift 2: The paper is said to be a little lengthy. It had no questions from Maths either. Plus there was a calculator on the system that helped students in the calculation.
