The PTE Academic test is divided into four sections, all of which are scored by machine using an automated scoring system. There are 20 different types of questions in the test. Some sections are scored solely based on the accuracy of the answers, while others take into account accuracy, formal aspects, and the quality of the response.

The scoring system for the PTE Academic 2023 exam consists of two categories: correct or incorrect and partial credit.
