JIPMER RESULTS OUT

The Jawaharlal Nehru of Postgraduate Medical Education Research entrance exam results were announced on 10th June 2017. It brought respite to the numerous medical aspirants of the country who are currently dangling by a thin thread with the NEET results having been postponed. The JIPMER exam was held on 4th June 2017 in two shifts for admission into MBBS courses at the two JIPMER campuses for a total of 200 seats. A total of 1,88,963 candidates had registered for the exam out of which 1,49,450 candidates had appeared for the paper. The result and the merit list can be viewed at the official website http://www.jipmer.edu.in Candidates belonging to the General category needed minimum 50 percentile marks to make it to the merit list. This condition had been relaxed to 40 percentile for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories. A total of 2,050 candidates have emerged triumphant in this exam Category-wise, 650 candidates have qualified the exam from the general category.150 candidates belonging to the ST category, 50 from the OPH,220 from SC and 380 from the OBC category. The counseling will begin from 28th June, starting from the general category students. Nipun Chandra has topped the exam by scoring a 99.9987 percentile. Abhishek Veerendra Dogra secured the second position and George Aditya Paul secured the third position in this exam, with 99.9985 and 99.9975 percentile respectively. The high level of competition in this exam is evident in the very minute difference in the percentiles of the toppers. The percentiles are calculated up to four decimal places to avoid any clash. The result was expected to be declared on 19th June but has been declared 9 days in advance. The candidates are now eagerly waiting for the NEET results.The interim stay on the NEET results imposed by the high court has finally been lifted and the result is expected within two weeks.
