The percentile score will be calculated up to five decimal points to minimize ties. The following formula will be used to calculate the candidate's percentile score.
Your percentage is determined by calculating the ratio of your obtained marks to the maximum marks possible. For instance, if you scored 20 marks out of 50, your percentage would be 40%. On the other hand, your percentile is calculated by comparing your performance with that of other candidates. For example, if there are 400 students who took a test and your rank is 20, your percentile score would be 95.
When it comes to considering board marks, 50% of the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths are taken into account. For instance, if you scored 70 in Physics, 60 in Chemistry, and 80 in Maths, the total would be 210 out of 300, resulting in a percentage of 70%. Therefore, your 50% of board marks would be 35%. The remaining 50% is derived from the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, which is then added to the 35% obtained from the board marks.
In the event of a tie in marks between two or more candidates, a tie-breaking policy will be implemented by the authorities to determine a higher rank among them. The following guidelines outline the MHT CET 2023 tie-breaking policy:
