The State Bank of India conducts the common entrance examination for various posts in the branches of the State Bank of India across the country. The examination is conducted for over 20 thousand positions of Clerical Level and Probationary Officers. The candidate seeking to apply for SBI Clerk Career 2019 must have completed Graduation from a recognized University.

Who can Apply for SBI Clerk Recruitment?

SBI Clerk 2020 Eligibility

The candidate interested in applying for SBI Clerk Recruitment 2019 must satisfy the following SBI Clerk Eligibility Criteria:

Academics Requirement:

  • The candidate applying for SBI Clerk Careers must be a Graduate in any subject from a recognized University.

Nationality:

  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The candidate can be a citizen of Bhutan/ Nepal/ Bangladesh but must possess valid certificate showing the candidate's intention to settle in India permanently. 

Age Limit:

  • Minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years. The age relaxation that would be given to reserved category candidates is as follows:

SBI Clerk 2020 Application Procedure

SBI Clerk Application Form has been released by the State Bank of India on the official website at sbi.co.in. The last date to fill the SBI Clerk Application Form is May 3, 2019. The examination will be held in two phases i.e. Preliminary and Mains, however, the candidate is required to fill a common SBI Clerk Application Form.  

Things to know before filling the SBI Application Form:

  • The process for the application would be online.
  • The application form would not be submitted in any other mode apart from online.
  • Application fees should be paid online.
  • The payment can be made using a debit/credit card or online banking.

Application Fees

The candidate is required to pay SBI Clerk Application Fee while filling the SBI Application Form. Following are the details of SBI Clerk Application Fee:

Unreserved Category (General and OBC) INR 600
Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ PwD) INR 100

The application fees can be paid via both online and offline mode.

SBI Clerk 2020 Admit Card

SBI Clerk Admit Card is expected to be released on June 6, 2019. The candidates who successfully register for SBI Clerk examination can download their SBI Clerk Admit Card/ call letter from the official website of SBI at sbi.co.in.

The candidate must note that the State Bank of India will be releasing separate Admit Cards for Preliminary as well as Mains examination. The candidate is required to enter their Registration Number and Password or Username and Date of Birth to download the Admit Card. 

Facts About SBI Clerk 2019 Admit Card:

  • The admit card for the prelims and mains shall be issued by the State bank of India.
  • The admit card shall be issued 10-15 days prior to the exam.
  • The admit card link shall be posted on the official website.

SBI Clerk 2020 Preparation Tips

SBI Clerk Careers prelim and main examination for Juinor Associate Post would be organized but selection would purely be based on the scores obtained in the exam. Section-wise strategies are mentioned below:

Reasoning:

  • This section is easy to score and the candidates can do well by focusing on this section.
  • Most of the questions are comprehensive-type reasoning. A paragraph is given and 4 to 5 questions are asked related to that paragraph.
  • Solving passages can help examinees gain good marks in the exam.
  • Candidates must be careful while solving puzzles as if the wrong strategy is used to solve, the entire question can go wrong. 
  • Coding and decoding questions can be easily answered if one chooses to practice regularly.
  • In the Mains exam, this part would come along with the Computer section, so you must save ample time to solve reasoning.
  • Topics to focus on- Venn Diagrams, Seating arrangement, Coding, decoding, problem-solving, puzzles, statement and conclusion type questions.

The SBI Clerk Recruitment would be conducted in two phases:

1) Prelims Examination:

  • The total marks for the exam would be 100 comprising of the sections - English, reasoning and aptitude.
  • There will be negative marking.

SBI Clerk Cut-Offs

What is SBI Clerk Cut Off?

  • SBI Clerk cutoff is the minimum marks a candidate must score for getting selected in the next round. The cutoff scored in the preliminary exam helps the candidate advance to the next phase. Whichever candidate scores the required cutoff in the mains would be going to the next phase.
  • The SBI cutoff that has to be scored section-wise is the minimum to go to the next round. Candidates would have to score in the following sections: General/Financial Awareness, English Language, Quantitative, Reasoning and Computer Aptitude.
  • The overall cutoff is required to be scored by the candidates to proceed to the next round. Along with the sectional, only when a candidate scores the overall cutoff, the candidate would be going to the next round.

SBI Clerk 2020 Selection Procedure

The candidate will be selected on the basis of the following SBI Clerk Guidelines:

  • Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their score in SBI Clerk. The high score holders would be immediately recruited on the job.
  • Candidates would have to pass in each section by gaining marks to be decided by the Bank.
  • The adequate number of candidates in every category as shortlisted by the Bank would be shortlisted for the mains exam.
  • The questions in the objective section except for English would be bilingual.
  • Negative marks for the wrong answer in the objective test would be 1/4 marks that would be awarded.
  • Passing marks would be determined on the basis of the performance of all the candidates in the exam.
  • An 'Acquaint yourself' booklet would be given to the candidates appearing for the exam.
