What is SBI PO ?

SBI PO is being conducted by State Bank of India (SBI) almost every year to fill the vacancies of Probationary Officers (PO). SBI PO Notification 2019 has released by SBI on April 1, 2019 on sbi.co.in for recruiting 2000 eligible candidates who canserve the postion of a PO in state bank of India as well as its associate banks.

SBI PO Exam conducted in following 3 Steps:

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Main Exam
  3. Personal Interview

The Preliminary SBI PO Exam is scheduled to be conducted from June 8, 9 and June 15, 16.

State Bank of India Probationary Officer Recruitment commonly known as SBI PO Recruitment is an examination conducted by SBI to provide jobs for the position of Probationary Officers in various branches of SBI. Every year Lakh of Candidates appear for this recruitment examination. Last year nearly 10 lakh candidates have registered themselves to SBI PO 2018 for 2000 vacancies of probationary officer.

The online application process for SBI PO started on April 1, 2019 and will end on April 22, 2019.

The Probationary Officer is the starting level position in the bank. The probation period is usually for one to two years and the candidate is exposed to various banking functions such as loans and advances, foreign exchange, credit rating, risk management, and marketing.

Any candidate who fulfills the SBI PO eligibility criteria can apply for the examination before the last date of application. Once the SBI Application Procedure is completed candidate will be able to sit for the examination on the scheduled date and upon qualifying the examination with required SBI PO Cutoff candidate will be shortlisted for the next round of the examination. The one who qualifies all the stages of examination with consistent high score will have high chances to make it to the final round of Interview.

SBI PO 2020 Notification

The State Bank of India released the SBI PO 2019 Notification on April 1, 2019. The SBI PO Application Procedure started after the release of official notification. The SBI PO Examination is conducted for the selection of candidates for the post of Probationary Officer in the State bank of India and other Banks associated with it.

The candidates aspiring to appear for SBI PO examination can register themselves for the examination through the online application procedure available on the official website of SBI PO. Currently, the Online Application Procedure has been closed and is expected to start next year in the month of April.

The SBI PO examination comprises three stages of selection process i.e. the Preliminary Round, Main Examination Round and the Interview Round. The candidates qualifying all the three stages will be eligible for the post of Probationary Officer

SBI PO 2020 Eligibility

Candidates who apply for SBI PO should fulfill the following criteria as per their nationality, age and education.

Nationality:

Only Indian citizens would be able to apply.

Age:

Candidates should not be below 21 years and should not be above 30 years. Candidates should have been born not before 02 April 1988 and not after 01 April

1997.

Educational qualification:

SBI PO 2020 Application Procedure

The Application form for SBI PO Examination is available on the official website of the State Bank of India.

SBI PO application procedure is performed through Online Mode only.

To avail Technical Errors, the candidate must use following Web-browsers while filling the application form:

  • Internet Explorer 8 and above
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.0 and above
  • Google Chrome 3.0 and above

SBI PO 2020 Admit Card

SBI PO 2019 Admit card for Preliminary Examination is expected to be released on June 2019. The registered candidate can download their Admit card from the official website of the State Bank of India. The Admit card link will be activated once the Admit card is released by the examination conducting authority.

SBI PO 2020 Preparation Tips

Understand the Exam Pattern:

To qualify any of the examinations, understand the examination pattern. The candidate must know that in what format questions are asked and the marking scheme of the examination. The candidate should also know the details about the negative marking.

Check Previous Years Cut Off:

Checking Previous Years Cut Off will enable you to set a benchmark for yourself. Don't forget to check the previous years cut off before appearing for SBI 2019 examination.

Prepare for all the rounds:

As you know that SBI PO Examination comprises of various rounds of examination. Prepare for each round equally and work on your weaker sections and overcome before appearing for the examination.

SBI PO 2020 Exam Pattern

The SBI PO Examination comprises of 3 phases i.e.

  1. Preliminary Phase
  2. Main Phase and
  3. Group Exercise/ Interview

To succeed to the next phases, the candidate is required qualify the previous stages.

SBI PO Preliminary Round Exam Pattern:

The Time Duration of SBI PO Preliminary examination is 1 hour and is conducted through online mode. The preliminary examination comprises of 100 questions divided into 3 sections i.e. English language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. The candidate is rewarded with additional one mark for each correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

SBI PO Main Round Exam Pattern:

This section comprises of Objective Test and Descriptive Test. The Objective Test contains 155 which are marked out of 200 marks whereas the Descriptive Test carries 50 Marks and its time duration is 30 minutes. Both the test will be conducted through online mode. The Objective Test is followed by Descriptive Test on the same day.

SBI PO Preliminary examination Result:

Last Year the Result for SBI PO Preliminary examination was declared on May 16. For the year 2018 the Preliminary examination result is expected to be released on­­­­­­ July 15, 2018 by the State Bank of India.

SBI Main Examination Result:

Last Year the Result for SBI PO Main examination was declared on July 3. For the year 2018, the SBI PO Main examination is expected to be released on ­August 20, 2018 by the State Bank of India. 

SBI PO Interview Process:

The Interview process involves test to check the basic knowledge of the candidate. The interview is the final step towards selecting the eligible candidate for the post.

SBI PO Final Recruitment Result:

The Final Merit List is declared on the official website of the State Bank of India and also published in Employment News. The Final Result comprises of the collective marks obtained by the candidate in Main Examination and Interview Process.

SBI PO 2020 Selection Procedure

The SBI PO Recruitment Examination comprises of 3 stages i.e. preliminary, main and interview stage.

Following are the steps of SBI PO Recruitment Procedure:

  1. Preliminary Examination-

    Preliminary Examination is conducted through online mode. The candidates are shortlisted according to marks scored by the candidates in this stage. The candidates who qualify this stage are eligible for next stage of examination.
  2. Main examination-

    • This examination is also conducted through the online mode. The qualifying candidates will be called for Group Discussion or Interview.
    • Group Exercises and Interview-
    • The interview is conducted by the participating organizations. Group exercise is marked for 20 numbers whereas Interviews are marked for 30.
  3. Final Result-

    The Final Result is declared according to the candidate's performance in Mainstage and Interview Sessions along with Group Exercises.

Score Evaluation

SBI PO 2019 Scores will be evaluated on the basis of following points:

  • The marks attained by the candidate in Preliminary Round will not be considered in the final score.
  • The candidate must qualify for the Main Examination and the Interview round.
  • The Ratio of marks scored in main examination and the interview round will be 80:20.
  • The Written Test marks will be converted out of 75 whereas the same of Interview round will be converted out of 25.
  • The Final Merit List will comprise of converted marks attained by the candidate in Written Test as well as Group Exercises & Interview.
  • The Result of the candidates who qualifies the examination will be available on the official website of the Bank.  
  • The list of Final candidates will be published in Employment News and Rozgar samachar along with official website of bank.
