The registration window of GATE 2021 was closed on 14th October 2020. There have been various applications received by the end of the application procedure. The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay i.e. IIT Bombay which is the conducting authority of GATE 2021 Exam has opened the application form correction window. The application form correction window was made available from 28th October 2020 and will remain open until 13th November 2020. Students who wish to make corrections in their duly filled application form can visit the official website of GATE i.e. gate.iitb.ac.in and proceed further by logging in to make the changes.
Candidates must note that they will only be able to make changes in their category, exam city, and exam paper details.
GATE 2021 Exam is scheduled to be conducted on 6th February 2021 & 7th February 2021, and 13th February 2021 & 14th February 2021.
More About GATE Registration

Candidates are required to process the payment of INR 1500 as GATE Application Fee while filling the GATE Application Form.

GATE Application Fee with late charges is INR 2000.

Aspirants must upload the scanned copy of their passport sized photograph and signature as per the specifications defined by the exam conducting authority.

GATE 2021 Exam Registration Procedure
The registration procedure of GATE Exam needs to be completed online on the official website of GATE. Candidates willing to apply for the exam are required to visit the official website of GATE and apply by filling the application form available there. There is a stepwise procedure that candidates must follow in order to fill the application form correctly.
The examination conducting authority make sure to release a guide for successful submission of GATE Application Form. Below mentioned are the steps to apply for the exam and fill the application form in order to register for the exam:
This is the first step to apply for the examination. Interested candidates must, first of all, register themselves by entering the required details. Candidates must click on “New User” tab if applying for the first time and proceed as per the guide. They will receive access to GOAPS after the registration procedure is completed.

Filling of GATE Application Form
Candidates must log in using the credentials received by them on their registered email id and start filling the GATE Application Form.

Uploading of Important Documents
While filling the application form, candidates must also upload their passport sized photograph, signature, eligibility certificate, SC/ST certificate (if required) as per the specifications mentioned by the exam conducting authority.

Payment of GATE Application Fee
Candidates must process the payment of application fee via any online payment modes such as net banking, credit card, or debit card.

Submission of GATE Application Form
Candidates must, at the end, submit their duly filled GATE Application Form by accepting the declaration statement and clicking on “Submit” tab.

For Indian Candidates:

Personal Information including name that should match the college records, date of birth, contact number, email ID and other details.

Postal Address details including PIN Code.

Qualifying Degree details including the name of the course, year of passing and specialization.

College Details including address and PIN Code.

Details about GATE such as for which subject the candidate is applying for and preferred examination cities.

In order to pay the application fee, bank details are required.
Guidelines for Photograph and Signature:
For Photograph:
-
The candidate is required to scan the color passport size photograph with light background clicked after August 1 of the current year.
-
The width of the photograph must be 3.5 cm and height must be 4.5 cm.
-
The format of the file must be in JPEG format only.
-
50 percent of the area of the photograph must be covered with the candidate's face and must not be covered by the hair of the head or any other cloth.
For Signature:

The candidate must draw a rectangular box of 2 cm (height) x 7 cm (width) on a plain sheet.
-
The signature should be either with black or blue ink pen within the box.
-
The signature must not be in Capital letters.
-
While scanning the signature, make sure that the border of the box is neatly cropped.
-
The scanned image must be in JPEG format.
-
The size of the image must not exceed 160 x 560 in pixels whereas the minimum image size must not be less than 80 x 280 in pixels.
For Foreign Candidates:

So, the above mentioned was the brief idea of how students can register themselves and apply for the exam. The detailed description of step wise procedure to apply for GATE 2021 Exam has been given below. Candidates must ensure filling the form in the sequence given below.
GATE REGISTRATION
The first step to apply for the exam is to register for GATE 2021 by completing the registration procedure. Candidates applying for the first time must register as new user by clicking on the tab “New User”. Candidates who already possess login credentials can continue further by clicking on “Login, If Already Registered”.
Candidates applying for the first time must enter the below mentioned details correctly in order to register themselves:

Candidates must ensure that the details filled in by them are correct as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of their candidature.

If the details given by the candidates are correct, candidates will receive an SMS and Email on the mobile number and email id registered by them respectively.

Using this SMS or Email, candidates must create GOAPS password by entering details such as email id, mobile number, etc.

The password created by students must be unique and candidates will be intimated on their registered email id and phone number.
GATE 2021 APPLICATION FORM FILLING
The next step is to fill GATE 2021 Application Form made available right after the registration procedure is completed. Candidates are required to enter the enrollment id and password sent to them on their registered email id and mobile number. It is advisable for candidates to go through the information brochure of GATE 2021 Exam and read the given instructions thoroughly before filling the application form. This section consists of four subsections concerning How to Apply for GATE 2021.

Candidates must choose the paper they wish to appear in. Choose your country from the dropdown and pick 3 options of your choice of GATE 2021 Exam Centers.

Candidates must also verify their email address and mobile number entered at the time of registration. While confirming the details by clicking on ‘Verify' button, they will receive an OTP on their registered email id and mobile number. Enter all the required details correctly as any incorrect may lead to cancelation of their candidature.

Candidates must read and accept the declaration statement before submitting the GATE Application Form. They must be aware of all the points mentioned in the declaration statement.
