GATE Admit Card 2026 → Things to remember
The GATE 2026 hall ticket comprises the exam, candidate, and instruction details that the applicant must strictly follow. Here is the list of instructions that the candidate must keep in mind -
- Candidates must present the printed (hard) copy of the GATE hall ticket 2026 in the exam hall. Candidates with an electronic (soft) copy are denied entry into the exam hall.
- Candidates must not carry any other items, such as mobile phones, calculators, etc., except those mentioned above (GATE exam instructions), else they will not be able to continue the GATE exam.
- Candidates must carry an original photo identity card. The candidate’s photo in the photo ID should be clearly visible and match the candidate's appearance on the admit card.
- Exam Conducting authority will not provide any duplicate admit card for GATE 2026 either offline or online at the examination center.
- Candidates will not be allowed any delayed entry due to whatever reason; the Candidate will not be given entry if it comes later than the allotted time in the GATE 2026 hall ticket.
- Candidates must know that the GATE admit card 2026will not be issued to candidates whose application forms are incomplete or rejected due to any issue.

GATE 2026 Exam Day Guidelines
Follow these GATE exam day guidelines while appearing for the exam.
- GATE Admit Card should be printed on A4 size paper. The printed hall ticket should be clear and readable.
- Paste the same passport size color photograph as uploaded while registering for GATE in the space provided.
- Carry your original and valid photo ID. Photo ID should not be damaged or smudged and the name on ID should match the name on the GATE Admit Card.
- Test centre should be located at least once before the exam day to avoid last minute confusion regarding centre location.
- Only GATE 2026 Admit Card and Photo ID will be allowed into the exam hall.
- All candidates should carry two simple pens and test-related documents. No other items are allowed.
- Don’t wear jewelry and other metal containing items to the exam hall.
- The Test Centre is not responsible for the personal belongings of the candidate.

GATE 2026 Admit card → Facilities for Candidates with scribe
Candidates with benchmark disability can avail themselves of the scribe's facility. The facility scribe is meant for only those PwD candidates with benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) and physical writing limitations, including speed. Candidates can read the essential points related to scribes below;
- Candidates must know that a scribe will be provided only on producing a certificate stating that the person concerned has physical limitations to write, as given in the GATE 2026 information brochure.
- In the case of a person with a benchmark disability (not less than 40% disability) in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA), and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe shall be allowed on advance request only.
- Dyslexic candidates can hire scribes, provided they submit a proper dyslexic certificate issued by the competent authorities.
- Candidates with less than 40% disability and difficulty in writing are required to send an email seeking compensatory time/Scribe Assistance topwd.gate@iitg.ac.in,mentioning their name, enrollment ID, and mobile number. The subject of the email should be “Compensatory Time/Scribe Assistance under section 2(s)”
